Twitter is Blowing Up

twitter1

I don’t know if you noticed but thanks to Ashton and Oprah Twitter is really exploding (Oprah just joined on Friday and already has 400,000 + followers). And while I wasn’t really excited about Oprah joining twitter I was pretty excited one of my favorite pastors ever, Andy Stanley joined twitter yesterday. Just one more way I can learn from his leadership.

In case you’re looking to follow someone besides Ashton and Oprah I thought I would give you guys the opportunity to follow each other.  It’s an incredible way to network, learn, and share together!

If you’re on twitter just introduce yourself and leave your twitter name. Oh and I almost forgot, if you have a favorite twitter tool of some sorts you use to enhance the twitter experience tell us about it in the comments.

Go!

Mind Dump

I’ve got so many things bouncing around in my head from the last few days that I just couldn’t get them to fit in a nice, neat post. So, here are a bunch of random thoughts I wanted to share with you.

  • This Easter weekend was truly amazing. I was so proud of everyone I got the opportunity to serve with. It was a really, really, long weekend, but God did some amazing things.
  • My kids, in their matching green shirts, participated in three different Easter eggs hunts. They had a blast. And, as usual, my mom cooked an amazing Easter lunch.
  • My Western Kentucky Hilltoppers are headed to the sweet sixteen. Can’t wait to watch them face UCLA on Thursday.
  • I think I’m winning the office tournament with 37 out of 48 correct picks. It’s a real shame that I’m beating Indiana basketball experts like this guy.
  • Please keep Jacky Allen in your prayers. Jackie is struggling for his life right now in a hospital here in Nashville. Jacky was greeting at Cross Point Nashville just one week ago and this week was struck by a rare virus that is attacking his organs. Once again I have been reminded of the fragile nature of life.
  • I was so encouraged by the number of pastor friends that contacted me over the weekend just to say that they were praying for Cross Point. I am so blessed to be surrounded by some real Kingdom minded pastors in this area.
  • I have heard rumors of a new website for Cross Point that could be launched as early as later this week. I got a sneak peek and it looks AMAZING.
  • Ryan Bult and his Cross Point mission team returned late last night from a week in the Dominican Republic. They actually celebrated Easter with our Domincan Church in their new building which we have been working on. I’ll give you more details and pics later this week.
  • Cross Point’s own Sheg Aronmolate is still on Oprah’s Big Give. He survived another week of elimination. I think something big happens to him this next week. Sheg, can you give us any hints?

Cross Point on Oprah?

Pete and Sheg

Well not really, but close. Sheg Aronmolate is a new friend of mine here at Cross Point who is currently competing on the new reality t.v. show “Oprah’s Big Give”.

Sheg is an amazing guy with a really cool story. He moved to the U.S. from Nigeria when he was 18 years old carrying nothing but a duffel bag. Now he is 24 and has a couple of degrees (a Bachelors degree in Bio-chemistry and Molecular Biology as well as a Masters in Applied Molecular Biology), a wife and two-year-old daughter. Not to mention he is the sharpest dresser I have ever been around.

Sheg is doing really well on the show. If you watched last night you know he escaped elimination and got to hang with Andre Agassi and former President Bush. We talked briefly in my office yesterday and he told me being on “Oprah’s Big Give” has inspired him all the more to be someone that makes a difference in this world. He is also in the process of writing a book on making a difference in this world.

I will keep you posted!

Have you seen the show? What do you think about the concept?
