A Global Cross Point Easter

This year Cross Point celebrated Easter in three locations. We had simultaneous services in Nashville, Dickson, and the Dominican Republic.

Easter Nashville

Easter Dickson

Easter Dominican

A team of 20 from Cross Point spent their week working on the church building of our Dominican Republic church plant. Although the building is far from being completed, Pastor Moises led their first service in the new church on Easter Sunday.

Here is an awesome video of the construction and ministry that happened this past week. I am so proud of this group of men and women. I am also proud of the entire Cross Point Church who through their weekly giving is making the construction of this church possible. You guys humble me with your generosity.

A Drunk Leprechaun in a Hot Tub With a Goofy Hat

St. Patrick Day Pic

I guess we all have different images burned in our brain that go along with St. Patrick’s Day. I must admit this is mine: a drunk leprechaun, in a hot tub with half naked women.  I have never put a lot of thought into what this day is about.

I stumbled across an article in Christianity Today entitled “The Real St. Patrick” that gave me some incredible insight into the life of this man. And guess what? It did not include green beer, hot tubs or half naked women. I know, I know, some of you will be disappointed, but go read anyway.

CLICK HERE to read the article and have a Happy St. Pat’s Day!

Cheers,

Pete

I’m So Proud of This Church!

Yesterday I had the opportunity to serve alongside several hundred volunteers from Cross Point who gave up their Saturday to serve others. We invaded the Nashville Family Shelter with a desire to make a difference.

This particular shelter is the only one in our community equipped to house the entire family. Other shelters often have to split the family up. In addition to housing the families for a certain period of time, they also set up transitional housing for the families until the can get back up on their feet again.

Cross Point did a lot of painting, cleaning, landscaping, and organizing to the main shelter. We also had teams at a couple of the transitional homes doing construction. And last, but certainly not least, we had volunteers who watched the kids back at the church and teams that provided food for everyone at all the sites.

I love watching the church in action. I love watching the church live out their faith. I love watching people use their gifts and abilities to serve the under resourced. I love watching the church being the Body of Christ. I love Cross Point Church.

If you served I want to hear how it impacted you…leave me a comment!

I love being your pastor,

Pete

Tornado Destruction

On Friday both Ryan Bult, (Director of Ministries here at Cross Point) and Chad Roberts, (Campus Pastor at our Dickson Campus) had the opportunity to go with a small group of individuals down to Union University to assist in clean up from the devastating tornadoes.

Cross Point is continuing to explore how we can assist in the upcoming weeks. We will keep you updated as opportunities arise. Please continue to pray for all the individuals who were impacted by this devastation.

Here are a few pics from their trip…

Change a Life!

I was so impressed with the number of you that showed interest last week in adopting a lunch buddy through the Preston Taylor Ministries.  You have the opportunity to change their life, and I guarantee it will change yours. There are still several kids that really need an adult that will take the time to invest in their life. Let me introduce you to Demari and Atonio below.  If you’re interested in joining this awesome program, just e-mail me at pete@crosspoint.tv .

 Demaria

Demari is eight years old and is a second grade student. He enjoys playing games and soccer and watching television. He told me that he “wants a lunch buddy so he’ll have someone to talk to.”

 Antonio

Antonio is seven years old and a second grader. His favorite color is red, and he likes football, basketball, and dirt bikes.

Matthew 10:42

“And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones becuase he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.”

You Can Make a Difference- Part 2

For those of you that are in the Nashville area here’s your chance! I told you a little bit about how the Preston Taylor Ministries Lunch Buddy program has affected me and my family (click here to read) . I want to encourage you to make a commitment to take 30-45 minutes out of your week to have lunch with one of the two kids below. I can’t think of a cooler way for you to “make a difference”. If you’re interested just e-mail me at pete@crosspoint.tv . I’ll get the ball rolling for you!

Amaya  Amaya is six years-old and in first grade. Her favorite colors are pink and blue, and she likes grapes, apples, and chips. Amaya would  like a lunch buddy “because nobody comes to eat lunch with her.”

 Eric

Eric is six years-old and in first grade. His favorite colors are red and black, and he likes the Vanderbilt football team, trains, and toy cars.
