Writers Night At Cross Point

I am so excited about this event coming up tomorrow night at Cross Point.  Breachbent writers night!  Our own Natalie Robertson and Ryan Bult have teamed up with two of my favorite people in the world, Jeff and Vicki Rogers of Go Ministries, for an amazing evening to benefit their tireless restoration efforts in Haiti.

I’ve been friends with Jeff and Vicki since college and have introduced them to you HERE. We’ve been long time supporters of GO here at CP and if you’ve ever been on one of our mission trips to the Dominican you know who they are and love them already.  Not everyone can always pick up and go to places like Haiti that are in desperate need of relief and hope. But I know Nashville. And I know where there’s a need, there are hearts willing to step out and do something.  I am in awe of what Jeff and Vicki Rogers do everyday for the good of others and the glory of God and hope you can be a part of this special evening with us.

Cross Point is loaded with talented artists and writers that I don’t get to hear near as often as I’d like so I’m so excited that some of them have agreed to entertain us for this special cause!  You won’t want to miss…

Seth Jones, Wayne Baird, Tommy Harden, Kate Carlson, Amanda Young, Lee Steffen, Megan James, Jennifer Schott, Marcia Ramirez, Ruben Mundo, Matt Price, Lorrie Harden, Molly Reed, Holly Singleton, and Vanita Gomez

There will also be a silent auction that will be taking place throughout the evening (Need to Breathe tickets 5th row seats anyone?)!

The evening goes from 6:30 until 8 at Cross Point, in the gym.  And it’s FREE!!  Hope to see you there!

Buy Groceries & Change The World

Rogers+Family

What if your grocery money could help get hungry children fed in third world slums, build churches and change lives for an eternity? It turns out it can if you shop at Kroger or a Kroger owned store.

My friends Jeff & Vicki Rogers live in the inner city of Louisville, Ky and are missionaries with G.O. Ministries serving the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Colombia and Mongolia. Cross Point has supported Jeff and Vicki for years but as you can imagine raising additional support in this economy is challenging.

This is why I’m so excited about this opportunity. It costs you NOTHING to use their Kroger Gift Card and if you do 4% of everything you spend will help fund their ministry. It’s easy! Find out how HERE.

Also, if you’re a pastor or missions leader in your church looking for ways to further involve your community in global ministry, Jeff is leading an Exploratory Trip with G.O. to the Dominican Republic form Jan 11th to the 15th. I know he’d be glad to have you along. For more info feel free to contact Jeff at jeff.rogers@go-ministries.org

Help out the Rogers

rogersfamily

For years our church has supported Jeff and Vick Rogers . They’re our American missionaries to the DR where we’re currently building our feeding center/church. I introduced you to them last year in THIS POST.

If you attend Cross Point you know 11% of every weekend offering goes to support missions, so your faithful giving already supports Jeff and Vicki. But here’s another way you guys could support them by doing something you’re probably already doing.

If you shop at Kroger you can help them out. They’ve made an arrangement with Kroger in which 4% of what you spend on groceries anyway, can be designated to help support their work with G.O. Ministries

So, here’s how the whole thing works:

1. Fill out this Web form.

2. Be sure to pick “Jeff and Vicki Rogers” in the “Supporting” drop down box.

3. You will receive a Kroger gift card in the mail already credited with $5

4. Next time you go to Kroger to get groceries go to the customer service desk first and put additional money on your gift card (whatever you estimate you will spend). It can be used at any Kroger owned store across the US.

5. Get groceries and pay with gift card.

6. Keep your gift card and reuse it over and over again just like the above. It’s important to keep the card because that’s how the whole thing is tracked.

Kroger will donate 4% of each dollar you put on the gift card to G.O. Ministries in the Rogers name, helping support their work. This adds a step to your grocery run, but helps the cash you’re spending go 4% further to help change the world in which we live in very positive ways.
