Father’s Day

So this Sunday is the big day. Well, let’s be honest it’s not as big as Mother’s Day, but it’s still a big day.  Since we’re out of town Brandi and the boys gave me my gift early. I’m so excited about this one.

Ready?

Drum roll please…….

I got a new waterhose for my garden!!

If your favorite dad already has a really nice waterhose, might I make another suggestion? I think it might be the newest rage combining fashion and comfort.

Let me introduce you to the pillow tie.

Let me show you how this works.

Step One: Access inconspicuous valve.

Step Two: Gently bite the base and inflate in less than a minute.

Step Three: Nighty nite.

Your husband/father will love you for this. You can thank me later!

So what are you giving or getting for Father’s Day this year?

Trustworthy

Dr. Peter Wilson

As usual Father’s Day is a time for me to reflect not only on the kind of dad I want to be but also on the kind of dad my father was. I could list so many different characteristics about my dad, but there is one that really stands out to me.

In a word, it’s TRUSTWORTHY.

My dad is one of the most trustworthy people I know. When he says he’s going to be somewhere, he’s going to be there. When he says he’s going to do something, you can mark it down: he’s going to do it. Growing up I never had to worry or ever doubt my dad. I always knew he would be dependable, consistent, honest and reliable. This created a very safe environment for me to grow and mature into the man I am today.

I only pray that I will be as TRUSTWORTHY for my boys as my dad was for me.

Thanks, Dad. Happy Father’s Day.

What Do Dad’s Really Want?

Well, this weekend is Father’s Day. We all know it’s not as big as Mother’s Day and here’s the stats to prove it. According to BIGResearch, a market intelligence firm, consumers surveyed said they plan to spend an average of $31 on their dads, as opposed to the average $41 they said they spent on mom this year.

Either way, I thought I would give you my top five things you should get your husband/father this year. This is my creative chaos.

#5 A GPS Device. We love gadgets. Especially gadgets that keep us from having to humble ourselves to ask for directions. THIS particular GPS device is a rearview mirror, mp3 player and GPS all in one.

#4 An Underwater pogo-stick. THIS little gizmo could be all the rage this summer in acquatic fun. Nothing says “I’m a cool dad” like showing up at the neighborhood pool with one of these.

#3 Punch Mugs. Every man needs one of these to drink his coffee out of. You never know when an inner-office rumble might just break out. Hey, we all know we’re a bunch of white collar wimps, but amuse us anyway.

#2 Radio Control Beverage Cart. Taking the kids to the pool in the summer is hard work. Why should your husband/father have to get out of the pool to fetch his favorite poolside beverage.

#1 A Urinal. I know this is going to cost you more than the lousy $31 you plan on spending, but this is the ultimate. Every man has a dream of owning a home urinal. Why not make this the year you make his dreams come true? Nothing says, “We think you’re the best” like a wall mounted urinal. Home Depot has a wonderful collection HERE (Guys you can thank me later).

So, what are you giving/wanting for Father’s Day this year?
