Check It

Introducing my pal Chad Jarnagin.  Although I’m sure some of you know who he is.  Songwriter, worship leader, artist, creative ideologist.  Chad is the Worship Arts Pastor right here in Franklin, TN at Rolling Hills Community Church and I’m stoked to promote his new EP to you guys today.  You’ll definitely want to check it out and get a couple copies for friends. You can go to iTunes to grab a digital copy or his website for a hard copy. I’m going to randomly select 5 commenters today to receive a free copy so let me know if you want in.  Keep rockin’ bro.

Fighting For Control

Every day millions of people are fighting for it. Their quest causes…

marriages to explode

jobs to be lost

reputations to be damaged

relationships to drift

kids to be pushed a way

And for what? All for the achievement of one of the greatest and most addictive illusions of our life: control

I love the way my friend Chad Jarnagan said it yesterday, “Control is never achieved when sought after directly. It is the surprising outcome of letting go.”

What is it you’re trying to control and manipulate that you should be giving back to God?

Blogging=Cool Relationships

God has always had a way of allowing me to meet great people who have impacted my life in significant ways. Sometimes, I know it as soon as I shake their hand. Other times it has been years later before I realized how significant they would be in my life.

This past week I had the opportunity to personally meet some different guys that I have been interacting with via the blog world. I liked them before I met them, but I can honestly say I like them in the flesh even more. Check out their blogs when you get a chance. Who knows, maybe they’ll play a significant role in impacting your life some way!

  • Tyler Reagin has an awesome blog that will give you some insight into the creative work of Browns Bridge Community Church. Also, one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met.
  • Mike Paschal is a great blogger with some off the charts creative ideas. It was great to finally meet you, Mike. Love your work man.
  • Steve Whipple is the lead pastor of The Church @ the Ridge. Great guy who will hopefully be bringing a team down to Nashville later this summer to hang out.
  • I have been reading Josh Lazar for a while. I love this guy’s heart for ministry.
  • Chad Jarnagin lives just down the road and is the creative arts pastor at the People’s Church and yet I had to go all the way to Atlanta to meet him. Can’t wait to spend some more time with this guy soon.
  • Check out, Brad Bretz. Brad does some of the most amazing pre-production I have ever seen for North Point and others.
  • Rich Barnett leads a great church down in Jacksonville, Florida. I hate the Jaguars, but Rich is a great guy. From the moment you meet him, you will love his heart.
  • Pete Kim is in my top 10 people I would like to get to know better. His blog is incredible and his name is even better.
  • Carlos Whittaker is changing the way church is done. And I don’t mean only at North Point, but around the country. This guy has an unbelievable ability to create an authentic environment for people to express themselves through worship, blogging, and life in general. If you want to see what the future is going to look like, then read his blog!
