I’ve Got Nothing

OK, so here’s the deal. I’ve got nothing. Between traveling and an extremely exhausting (but also rewarding) day yesterday I’ve got no fresh content for you.

I usually come home on Sunday nights after our 4th service and write a blog post or two but last night I blew you guys off and went and hung out way too late with some friends.

So today, you get a video. But it’s a good video. Here’s a clip of the show 100 Huntley Street that I did last week. The show aired live nationally across Canada on Friday….. but since only 6 of my readers live in Canada (just kidding, just kidding). Love the format and the girls on this show were great. Lots of fun.

funny story. the choir I was in in College went to Singapore and one of the churches there we sang at had our choir billed as “the Amazing choir that was once featured on the tv show 100 Huntly Street” None of us had even heard of the TV show and the choir was probably on it in the 80s some time with completely different people.

I forgot about that until today. funny memory. thanks :)

I don’t think you should have titled this post, “I’ve got nothing”. I know, I know…it isn’t my blog… I get that… but I think a more apt name…would have been “God shows up in Canada too!!” lol…just kidding. I love the video caption, and was sad when it ended. I would have loved to hear the rest of the interview. The hosts were extremely engaging, and it was very apparent that they had all read the book, or are reading it.
I truly am uplifted everytime I watch one of the interviews, or I hear more explanation about the book or I hear how God is showing things to you in a way that I never considered before. I was greatly encouraged this morning by you sharing this video, you may have felt that YOU had nothing, but God had a plan even in your nothing… Thanks.

what happened.. I was watching and then it ended. Where’s part two? or did you cut it off right before a really bad answer? HA

    Really wonderful clip.

My bad. Forgot to include the second half. I’ve added it now.

Thanks for sharing the video of this great interview. I agree with Julie: I appreciated that the hosts had read the book. So often we see interviewers who don’t have a clue. :)

BTW, one of our pastors quoted you (from Plan B) in his sermon yesterday. He was speaking about getting out of the pit, coping in rough circumstances, so it was a good fit.

I agree. It makes an interview so much easier when they’ve read the book.

LOL, thanks for your honesty…i clicked on Without Wax about 4 times this morning….
thinking…”geez, what in the world!? What is taking him!” :)

You know, until you appear on Great White North, you haven’t really been on a Canadian TV program. ;)

    Seriously, nice job Pete.

Is this the canadian version of the view?

I am about 3 chapters in and am amazed at how much you know about how my plan a has failed. Great book and good interview my friend.

I do think they’ve designed the show off the concept of “the view”.

Glad you’re enjoying the book Kyle.

    Pete,
Great job! I watched the entire program from the show’s website. That’s cool that they asked you to stay with them after your segment. Did you know that was gonna happen?
The book is excellent. Hit me right where I am right now. God bless.

For not having anything, you sure did have something that ministered to me. I can’t wait to get the book.

Love this video! So here I am, thinking I don’t have any need to read your book because my life is kinda perfect. But I’m setting up a new Plan A to adopt, thinking it’s totally God’s plan, but I suddenly realize I may have to deal with the reality that it isn’t. Only time will tell. But you quoted my favorite verse, John 16:33!

You are a freaking Rock Star……even if you don’t sing or play guitar. Nice job!

Great interview, Pete. I’m so glad you took the time to come up and see us in Canada; hope you come back again soon!

Am I one of the 6?

    Great stuff, Pete.

Really enjoyed watching you on Huntley. Tweeted these links on Friday morning.

Too bad we couldn’t have hooked up – maybe next time.

thanks for including the second half of the interview ~ it was very well done ~ I love that the interviewers were versed in the book and referred to specifics ~ I’m sure you appreciated the fact that they had as well ~ I think it was mentioned that when we hit a wall or a situation that completely stops us in our tracks, we need to be still, listen and wait…I love what you say on pg 204 “if we will remain still, listening for his voice, God will insert something of himself into our character that will mark the rest of the journey with him” ~ I love that ~ So often we rush through situations, trying to put it behind us, trying to forget it when what we really need to do is sit back and wait keeping our heart and mind open to his words. There were so many pages I earmarked in the book that truly resignated with me..Thank for you writing “Plan B”~ I will revisit this book many times ~

Awesome! Thanks for sharing! I’m in my plan B and totally leaning on Him. My eyes are opened to the fact that no matter how hard I try, it’s never good enough. God bless!

I need to get my hands on your book! my “list of books i will buy when i have more than $2 in my bank account” has been growing and growing. But i LOVED the part of the interview about authenticity, and how you have to be a part of an authentic community and that there are SOOOO many places who are so surface level and don’t want to go deeper and be transparent, i just left a church for that very reason, there was no transparency, and i was burned by it. But i am seeking a transparent authentic community where i can be mentored on more than a surface level.
