Tongue Tied

There are few things cuter than listening to my kids try to say certain words. I couldn’t help but capture Gage trying to say squash after he had just woofed down his mother’s squash casserole.

And yes, sometimes I snort when I laugh. :)

my daughter’s not old enough to say anything yet, but i did just this morning write a post about the funny things tanzanian kids say…

and i’d love some squash casserole right now.

These are the kinds of things that remind me why I love to be teaching little kids. Preschool kids are highly entertaining! Try spending a day in my classroom with 40 different little ones throughout the day. You’ll be exhausted but I can’t remember another time that makes me laugh so much.

Several years ago we captured our now 16-year-old son on video trying to say “chocolate”. We still love to watch that video.
“Hi, Mommy. I got my chaw-ha-lit!”

When my son, Uriah, was a toddler, he would reach up with both hands and instead of saying, “I want you to hold me” he offered this irresistible invitation … “Come mere let me hold you!” Got me every time.

I still can’t say Geranimums. So I just don’t say anything when I see flowers, just in case.

Can can remember being a kid and not able to say linoleum properly causing my aunts and uncles to erupt in fits of laughter (and snorts).
PS – of course, no one even knows what linoleum is anymore! (snort snort)
