Hoping everyone had a great weekend.
Brandi and I got to spend the weekend in Anderson, South Carolina as I had the opportunity to speak at NewSpring church this Sunday.
In case you’re not familiar with NewSpring my friend, Perry Noble, started and pastors this phenomenal church. From the moment you walk onto that campus you know God is doing a powerful thing there. Perry is one of the most amazing leaders I’ve ever been around and his staff is off the charts.
They just celebrated their 10 year anniversary last year with over 15,000 people in attendance. Yes, in Anderson!! For those of you who traveled to NewSpring to hear Perry preach yesterday and got stuck with me, I’m SO sorry. If you’ve never heard Perry preach you’ve got to check out some of his messages HERE. You’ll thank me later.
I’ve been really missing my Cross Point family (I heard Justin killed it yesterday) but we have been enjoying this study break that I take each July. I’ve been on the road quite a bit, but starting this week will be buckled down as I attempt to get serious about writing book #2.
Not a lot of details right now but the working title is Rhythm: Living A Rhythm Of Life That Restores God’s Wonder In You. Could really use your prayers as I start this process again. Writing is by far the most difficult thing God has called me to do in my life.
Alright, time to get after it. Hope you guys have a great week.

I am consistantly impressed with NewSpring and from the looks of Perry’s blog he was equally as impressed with you last weekend. I actually came across his message Don’t get married until… randomly online and found him extremely inspirational. Like Cross Point I think they are led to tackle some subjects that many are too anxious to talk about. Praise God for that.
Glad you’ve been able to take the time off and refresh, Pete. You’re blessed in having Blake and Justin to pinch-hit when you’re not around. It’s like Babe Ruth having Hank Aaron and Mike Schmidt to pinch hit for you!
I love those guys Jason. They’re KILLING it week in and week out.
I will add your time of writing to my prayers. Be blessed during your study break.
What is that picture of? Is that NewSpring?
It’s a picture of their 10 year anniversary service that I referenced below it. Sorry, that is confusing.
I would rather hear you speak than Perry any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
I don’t were you get the time to work on a book and blog almost everyday. You are a busy man but you seem to always have time for the family. Good job!
The balance has never been harder than it is these days Rodney but I’m also more committed to get it right than ever before. Or at least as right as I possibly can.
I’ve seen it before where a preacher wakes up one day and the church is growing but their kid’s life is going south and their wife is just going somewhere else. I pray that you will keep that commitment because in the end it will be worth it. I know you can do it! I will be praying for you anyway.
Prayers for you as you work on your new book! How exciting is THAT?! Move over Lucado & Warren – Wilson is moving up fast! (Or should I say SWIFTly?)
book 2 – yay
WOW… Just hearing the title, I know it’s going to be great… so awesome about book #2. Praying!!
From the sound of it, I should download the message from this past Sunday. Grant and Jason both referenced it in their blogs today.
Holy smokes that is a LOT of people!!! It’s looks like a rock concert! Do you ever get stage fright??
Given the amazing book Plan B is and how many lives it continues to touch, clearly God has tremendous faith in you, as do we. Trust that He’ll send the Holy Spirit to your laptop.
I’ll be praying for you!
Rhythm: Living A Rhythm Of Life That Restores God’s Wonder In You.
I love that title Pete!
Hi Pete, I follow you and your wife’s blog, but never really took the time to comment. I wanted to tell you thank you for your blog. It seems that in the seemingly small, insignificant posts God speaks. Strange sometimes, but just need to say thanks.
Loved having you at NewSpring Pete! Everyone I talked to thought that was one of the best messages they’ve heard. Keep fighting the good fight.
It was very nice to meet you last weekend at NewSpring and I thought your message was great (have heard many people talking about how much it hit home with them). But, the best part was meeting your lovely wife! So thankful for the time I had to chat with her.
