Every once in a while you have a moment where you realize that things could not possibly be any better than that exact moment. You wouldn’t exchange it for anything the world has to offer. I had one of those moments yesterday. It just so happened to be caught on camera…
Peaceful
Joyful
Thankful…
all wrapped into a moment.

Definitely one thing I learn about while reading your blog is how life can be full of moments of present contentment! Good stuff!
One of the best compliments I’ve ever received about the blog John. Thank you.
If you think those moments are great, then just think about the moments that God will give you that will be greater. How awesome will those days be?
It just doesn’t get any better than that, my friend! Sweeeeeeeet!
That needs to be printed and framed!
I agree. Based on your suggestion I’m going to do just that.
I love the way he is leaning on you…. our children lean on us and God makes us strong enough to support them while we teach them to lean on HIM…. great picture!
My son is visiting my parents in St. Louis this week. This really made me miss him.
Beautiful picture.
I love this picture, enjoy your travels.
Such a beautiful picture…If we are in every moment as you and son are in that picture…contentment, peace, joy will always be with us.
You are blessed Pete.
Very!
Blessed art thou
awesome picture…T Swift take it?
There are so many beautiful things about this picture! There is no lack of love between you and your boys.
Great pic. Great memories. I had a contentment moment at the pool the other day. All my little ones laughing. Mr. Hubby playing and splashing. Life is good. God is good.
The pix made me think that you and your son were “in the now”. That may be an important ingredient to “contentment”.
I would venture that our worry/dissatisfaction regarding upcoming days/weeks is a key killer of contentment. When we can sit in the NOW, and in the love of Christ, then we can find peace and contentment. I think that is what Paul was trying to tell us.
Of course, this is easier said than done, but most worthwhile things are.
ENJOY your travels!
Buddy
I love those kinds of moments.
There are no words that can do this picture justice. Just beautiful!!!!
I had one of those experiences of contentment yesterday when I was sitting on the beach with my family.
They’re great aren’t they Kevin?
When I hugged my middle child yesterday – seeing him for the first time in 7 months, I felt that way. He’s an adult now but there is still nothing like holding one of your babies (or in my case, having him hold me! He’s 6’5″).
Are you wearing the same shirt as in your profile picture on your blog?
Good eyes Jan. I think I was.
Simplemente hermoso =D
I saw that picture when you had it on Twitter…its image stayed with me a long time and made me smile whenever I thought about it. Thanks for sharing – it’s definitely frame material.
LOVE this pic. Perfect peace!
