The Party Isn’t Over

There are no words to express how incredible this weekend was. I was blown away with what God did in the life of our church. Over 100 people made a decision to follow Christ yesterday! Wow!

So very thankful for the tireless efforts of the CP staff and volunteers. Equally excited to hear how God was moving around the globe in the larger Church. Absolutely blown away!

Now just imagine the indescribably joy, the powerful hope, and the sense of anticipation Christ’s followers must have had when they woke up the morning after Easter. The celebration isn’t over this morning friends. Let’s move into this week with the renewed power that comes along with the reality of the resurrection in our lives. The party is just getting started!

In between the craziness I had some great family moments as well over the weekend highlighted by a quick trip to the zoo and dyeing and hunting for Easter eggs. Here’s a few of my favorite photos. Love my family so much!!

Last night was a great night to be at Crosspoint. I was so moved by all the lives that were committed to Christ in that room.

I have a question. Is is wrong to teach our kids about the easter bunny knowing all too well that it a lie and the real reason for Easter is the Triumphant Return of Jesus from the Grave?

    • pete wilson April 5, 2010 at 7:05 am #

I can only really answer that question for my family Greg. We don’t really make a big deal about the Easter bunny. My kids could really care less about him.

They do love to color eggs and hunt for them though.

I think the thing we as parents always have to be careful of is where is our “focus”.

Is it possible for our kids to enjoy some of the secular traditions that often accompany religious holidays and still keep the main thing the main thing? I think so.

I know last night as I was putting my kids to bed I yelled to them, “Guys, don’t forget He is risen.” They all 3 yelled back, “He is risen indeed.”

      I love it!

I’m pretty sure, everybody, that Pete meant he was DYEING Easter eggs, not that he experienced dying. On the other hand, since it was Easter and Jesus experienced death for us, well, there’s a Freudian there…

I like your response about the Easter Bunny. There’s a way we can teach children not to take these secular views seriously, to make sure that their focus is on Jesus…while they’re hunting for eggs like other kids out there. It is important though to LET THEM KNOW THE TRUTH.

ps: just been married for 3 months and some, no kids yet…lol.
