A conference that’s actually in my town? Sign me up! KC doesn’t get much love. My favorite worship song: Beautiful Scandalous Night. It’s just awe-inspiring.

Ok, so I have to admit, my favorite worship song of all time: How Great Thou Art. I know, it’s old, I like to think it’s like a fine wine, it only gets better with age! All the new stuff is excellent, I have much love for Fee, Crowder, Hillsong United, etc… but when I worship privately, I’ll sing How Great Thou Art at the top of my lungs. It’s beautiful in it’s simplicity.

Ooh, ooh! I live in Kansas City! :) My favorite worship song is Lord, I Lift Your Name on High. It was the first non-hymn I remember learning. I visited another church’s youth group and they sang this song, and I loved taking it back to my own youth group and teaching them to sing it.

In the two years I’ve been in the States working at Liquid Church as Church Online Pastor and Worship Pastor, I’ve never been to Kansas and always wanted to to go. I’d love to have some key leaders with me. Hosanna by Brooke Fraser is one of the all-time great – a modern hymn! Challenging and prophetic it’s a powerful tune!

  10. Tyson Brown March 5, 2010 at 8:23 am #

Blessed Be The Name, my two young boys (8 and 5) absolutely love this one. It moves me to see them moved in worship even if they clap totally off beat. And the other would be How Great Is Our God. I think I could do that every week!

  11. Sarah Stone March 5, 2010 at 8:30 am #

I love Sovereign Grace’s “Glories of Calvary”

    So many of them….

“O Praise Him” by Crowder is great but I am going to have to say “Once Again” by Fusebox (now I need to listen to it!)

BTW – Pete just figured out that your blog title comes from the Latin – sine cere meaning without wax. I am right about this aren’t I?

  24. Sarah Miller March 5, 2010 at 9:49 am #

It’s hard their are so many from Christ for The Nations, Hillsongs, Martha Munizzi. Each having different impact on me at different times and various situations. But for the sake of space and not listing them all I will say something by Israel Houghton “I will Search for you”

My favorite worship song is probably “How Deep the Father’s Love for Us.” I love songs that tell the gospel story well (another example: In Christ Alone). We recently started adding a chorus – “how deep! how wide! how great! is your love for me!” – after the song. It is powerful because it allows us to respond emphatically to the truths in the song. Love it.

Open Up The Sky – Deluge Band

  30. Rachel Rowell March 5, 2010 at 12:59 pm #

wow. I have a TON of fav. worship songs. I’m just a worship girl. But hands down my favorite worship song is ‘Worthy Is The Lamb”…. of which we got to do yesterday at Unleash! It was AWESOME! That song just gets me every time.

BTW…..STILL haven’t gotten over meeting you in person yesterday! :)

  31. Dennis Moore March 5, 2010 at 1:00 pm #

“Hosanna” by Hillsong United. “I see a generation rising up to take their place – we’re on our knees…”

  32. Cindi March 5, 2010 at 1:01 pm #

Everything – Tim Hughes! It sums it all up! I want Jesus in everything! Every aspect of my life! I want to never overlook or forget about Him in anything I do. Oh and I’m also in love with Love Comes Down – Matt Maher! Those songs just lift me up no matter what else may be going on.

    Thanks!

  38. chris roberts March 5, 2010 at 1:10 pm #

At the moment it is Revelation Song. Hearing the people attending Unleash singing louder than the band yesterday was a small glimpse to what Heaven will be like I think. Powerful, unrestrained worship.

  39. T.J. McCormick March 5, 2010 at 1:12 pm #

Favorite worship song is GLORY TO GOD by FEE. Amazing lyrics that give it all to Jesus.

  40. T.J. McCormick March 5, 2010 at 1:13 pm #

My favorite worship song is GLORY TO GOD by FEE off of the Hope Rising album. I like it woven in with the chorus of The Stand. Great combination of worship songs.

Fire Fall Down – Hillsong United // cuz I know that you’re alive, you came to fix this broken life. And I’ll sing to glorify Your Holy name, Jesus Christ

  43. Jason Fischer March 5, 2010 at 1:29 pm #

Currently I would say “From The Inside Out” by Joel Houston as it praises God for who He is yet identifies with where I’m at and leads me closer to Him.

  44. Jennifer March 5, 2010 at 1:41 pm #

Favorite worship song, You Won’t Relent

  45. Luke W. March 5, 2010 at 1:43 pm #

My favorite worship song of all time would have to be “How He Loves” by John Mark McMillan. John Mark is so real and writes the best lyrics I have ever listened to. The story behind this song is so touching and to be able to lead a song like this where I see people all over the church worshiping in their own ways is always touching. This has been a song that has brought our church to our knees, brought us into a walk throughout the church to “break down the walls”, etc. This song is truly an annointed song, thanks John Mark for writing it.
Favorite lines: “If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking” and “I don’t have time to maintain these regrets when I think about the way… He loves us”

    • pete wilson March 5, 2010 at 1:52 pm #

I sung that song just yesterday at a conference. Wow! Always a powerful worship experience.

      That same line kills me!

I love so many it is hard to choose. Right now, Days of Elijah and Shine. They both get me singing at the top of my lungs!!! And believe me, it is not really good, but I’m making a joyful noise!!!!

  47. zach Lentz March 5, 2010 at 1:44 pm #

“It is well with my soul”

  48. Felicity March 5, 2010 at 1:45 pm #

I cut my worship leading teeth on “Shout to the Lord,” so it is a sentimental favorite. But my current go-to song is “In Christ Alone” by Stuart Townsend – this one explains why I can worship at all.
    .-= Felicity´s last blog ..Why Teach? =-.

  49. Ken Leslie March 5, 2010 at 2:19 pm #

    I would have to choose…

“O Praise Him (All This for a King)”

I think even though it is a few years old, it is the perfect storm– Great music, easy chorus to sing, and great theology! I love the idea of “Joining with the angels” in the first part, then as we sing about salvation… the “angels join to sing…” How awesome.

BTW, I have never been trained as a worship leader–no mentor, no schooling, no conferences yet. This would be an amazing blessing for me. :)

  50. Jenny March 5, 2010 at 2:56 pm #

Oh my. I don’t know how to pick just one. There are so many great ones. Mighty to Save, How Great is Our God, Your Love is Deep, O Praise Him… and many more. I would love to have some of our worship team go to that conference. I’m sure it will be a great one!

  51. Alyson March 5, 2010 at 3:32 pm #

Hands down right now, Revelation Song. This is constantly changing, and it’s hard for me to pick just one.

  52. Suzi March 5, 2010 at 3:45 pm #

Tough to choose a favorite but I’ll go with “Arms Open Wide” (Hillsong United). Oooh, also “Healing Is In Your Hands” (Christy Nockels)is a brand new fave (pre-release streaming on yahoo this week).

  53. OneGirl March 5, 2010 at 3:59 pm #

Today Is the Day, Mighty To Save, Open Up the Sky, and Desert Song are probably my very favorites. But if I had to pick one, I’d pick Mighty To Save.

  54. Matt Hafer March 5, 2010 at 4:13 pm #

My favorite worship song ever is no contest, Phil Wickham-Beautiful.

I have the words written in my office as my favorite quotes, it is beyond amazing. Oh and our crew would benefit HUGE from this conference, we are putting together services at a shoe string budget and would love some much needed training and time to just participate with fellow believers

seriously – Graham Kendrick’s “I Kneel Down”. I’m sure most churches aren’t playing this one on Sunday morning, but just read through the lyric..

Above All is one of my favs. I’d live for My dad and his team to get a chance to go to this conference.

  58. Michelle March 5, 2010 at 8:20 pm #

I would have to say… “In Christ Alone” by Stuart Townend – don’t these words say it ALL! It is one of those songs that make my eyes search the heavens and my knees bow before the throne. Thanks for sharing about the conference.. I am passing the information onto our worship leader. We are a small church in Northern Wisconsin, but have a fantastic worship leader with a passionate heart for Jesus! thanks!

“Blessed Be Your Name” – I am still taken by the notion that our praise should go up to God whether we are in the valley or on the mountaintop.
