I don’t know if I have ever been sledding. I grew up in NE Oklahoma where we don’t have many hills. Oh sad is my life

I honestly can’t remember, I might have been 12. You’re one brave (and cool) dad for not only getting on a sled with your kid but with a camera no less, and letting Jett hold it. I think you’re in your own parenting league with this one.

I have never been sledding. We do not get enough snow in our area to sled.
However, if sliding down a snowy hill on my butt while trying to ski is considered a form of sledding, that would be a couple of years ago.
Beyond that, growing up, my mom would flatten boxes and my mom would find the biggest hill in our area and take us sliding (sledding) down the hill on top of the box.

We lived by the gravel pits [yes, we're country] so we’d go sledding down them in the winter. In case you’ve never seen gravel pits… think dead drop

We Yankees go sledding all the time up in the frozen tundra!
The preschool I used to work at would let the kids slide down a little hill on garbage bags.
In college we used to sled down big hills on cafeteria trays.
The third graders (the oldest kids in my school) can sled at recess! But I always find a time to take my whole class, which consists of kids from other countries – some of whom have never seen snow, sledding at least once. My favorite comment was one girl who said, “I can’t go sledding. I don’t know how!”
The last 3 days have been nothing but sledding for us too…and we have the BEST hill in TN. Its more like a mountain and you’ll never experience anything like it. Now, I wish I would have filmed it. AWESOME!!!! Glad y’all had fun…it will be gone soon enough.

Yep, it looked scary! I realized at the end of the video I was holding my breath! Glad you guys avoided the fence at the bottom. We have a great time sledding as a family. Lots of laughter and good memories!
That is great. I wish we would have taped our hill as well.
The road from the top of our hood to the bottom of the other hood is about 1/4 mile and wicked steep. Some of the adults were flying down the hill…would have loved to have it on tape.
Oh that brings back memories. Think steeper with pine trees that you have to steer away from…
My father would take us on his five man toboggan and we’d be screaming all the way.

Actually our Pastor took us out this year after one of our staff meeting! It was AWESOME and amazing team building event! A year of no fear…is what we yelled as we each went down on the sleds. In every area of ministry we need to be reminded at times to continue allow God to move without fear.
It was an afternoon I won’t soon forget.

Probably 15 years ago…we lived in Southern Ohio and we got about 7 ft of snow. Our neighbor took his tractor up the hill behind us and used the front loader he had on it to flattern a path. It was so cool…it was like we were in a tunnell because of where he had packed it so far down…

Yeah, I need to break out the sledcam. I saw someone following another kid on some ski slopes earlier this year. They were insane. But someone I still wanted to join them.
My last sledding was earlier this month actually. It led to soreness.
This reminded me of the infamous “suicide hill” in the trails down the street from my house. Once we got up the nerve, we’d ride down that hill all day. Thanks for the flashback Pete.
Looks fun!! I haven’t been sledding for about 10 years. I should start again cause we just got dumped on with over a foot of fresh snow.

I tried to buy a sled last Friday but the only one in Nashville was #78 at Ace Hardware. Got a tip to buy a mortar mixing tub at Lowe’s from a guy who works there. He said the bottom is ‘slick as butter’ and it’s better than any sled he’d ever seen. It was only $5 so I did that. He was so not kidding.
In the spirit of the X-games I built a jump halfway down our very steep driveway for Cooper. Of course I had to test it to make sure it worked. I wasn’t sure if I’d ever walk again but it was so worth it.
Best part of being a dad? Finding out that you’re never too old to be a kid again.
I would have paid good money to have watched that Bill. And you’re right…you’re never too old to be a kid again.

We had some serious snow here(nr Manchester UK!) over Christmas and loads of sledging. funny thing was my eldest daughter .. the book worm and not usually very adventurous wanted to go from as high as possible and my youngest the adventurous one (we call her Dangerbobs!) was not into it at all!
I cant wait to do it again!!
