Pursue Wisdom

I kicked off our 31 Day Challenge this morning by posting my thoughts on Proverbs 1. More and more God’s allowing me to see that His wisdom sets me free to live the life He’s designed me to live!

Go HERE to follow along with the 31 Day Challenge blog. We would love to hear from you about how God speaks to you during this time. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun to learn from one another as we pursue His wisdom together.

  1. I really like proverbs, I thought the last few verses where it says practice wisdom before you get in trouble really brings it home to me

  2. I liked 1:19: “So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain; it takes away the life of its owners.”

Lesson – How to lose: take.

I tweeted this and am loving it. Thanks.

That is the verse that stuck out the most to me also. I like the Message version, “When you grab all you can get, that’s what happens: the more you get, the less you are.”

  4. I’ve always loved Proverbs and off and on in seasons of my life have done this. Reading one chapter a day.
Those who think the Bible is not practical for our lives today obviously haven’t taken a look at what this book is saying.

  6. “Incline your heart to understanding”

I like the Hebrew meanings behind this section of verse 2. It’s almost as if Solomon is urging:

“Stretch your will to the fullest to gain true knowledge!!” In other words: PURSUE GOD!.

Paul said it this way in Philippians:

More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ,
