I’ll admit it. I can’t dance. I mean I can dance, but it’s not smooth like Justin Timberlake. I really wish I could and I admire people who can.
I can’t sing either, but my lack of ability has never stopped me from full fledge concerts in the car. My 3 year old son, Brewer, has watched many of my concerts from the backseat and officially announced yesterday that he will be joining me on tour.
Enjoy this 57 seconds of awesomeness. Eat your heart out Justin Timberlake.
Have you been known to sing and dance in the car from time to time? Be honest.
Lil’ Brewer from Pete Wilson on Vimeo.

Are you kidding me? I have been known to require that everyone in the car dance during the breakdown of Staci O’s “Tight.” Wish we’d had Brewer during those times; he would have taken us to a whole new level.
.-= Anita´s last blog ..Eighteen Years =-.
Put on some James Brown and then you can really see Brewer rock out.
Not that we were doing that in the 3 year old room one Sunday morning… *cough cough*
As far as dancing in the car – yep. Shimmy, shake and be bop to my heart’s content.
Of COURSE!
What’s even more crazy–I often commute into downtown Minneapolis on the bus from the ‘burbs. I’ll plug in my iPod and sometimes catch myself “seat dancing” and have been known to sing a line or two outloud.
Oh. Yes. I. Have.
In my car? That’s a whole ‘nuther story. But to be honest–it’s fun to bust out in song now and again. : )

If it makes you feel any better, your dancing skills and Justin’s are equal in God’s eyes.
Love it! Please provide us one of your moves to this song! Perhaps even the two of you together!
Come on! Bring it!

I love the total un-selfconsciousness he has! I need me some of that!
And yes, I dance and sing all the time, when I’m alone.

wow, he’s a natural. i love car dance parties and i sing in the car whether people are in it or not…why not involve everyone though – especially when there is more than one vocal part.
Oh yeah!!! That made my morning! I’m headed out to the farm and I WILL be doing some car dancing, followed by tractor dancing! He’s adorable – and he’s got something…don’t know what it is, but he’s LOADED with it! Have a good one!

Love it! I always sing and dance in my car and in the shower and anywhere there is a good tune on…. I can’t do either well, but I do it even if people are starring at silly me…
The quote I live by:
“Dance like no one’s watching.
Sing like no one’s listening.
Work like you don’t need the money.
Love like you’ve never been hurt before.
Live like there’s no tomorrow.”

Yes, we’ve been known to be-bop to the tunes when I’m driving kids to school.
One question…you were driving and video-taping. What skill!!!
OK, first of all when did Brewer learn to seat dance like me! I’ve been busting those kinds of moves for years.
Confession time, I have been known to alter my route home just to finish up one of my car concerts. Sort of an encore for all my fans
I love the look on his face the most – so cute! And such concentration!! Adorable.
I sing and dance in the car all the time. I remember a time when I was dating my husband and he would get embarrassed by it. Now that we have a kiddo who also enjoys the occasional dance party in the car? Well, he can’t help but join in.

I am just wondering who doesn’t sing or dance in the car? Both my 4 and 3 year old (they are 19 months apart) have serious jam sessions in the back seat. Some of their favs are Toby Mac and Skillet. I also love to sing along to the music

my kids sing in the car all the time. my boys especially like Boom Boom Pow and I’ve Got a Feelin’! my youngest tells everybody to do “the wobot”. i’m more amazed by your skillz to shoot video and drive at the same time. ok more scared than amazed, but still….

SERIOUSLY?! hilarious! especially when he starts popping his hands behind his head at the end there.
I don’t know about me, but that Jessica Holmes chic dances like a crazy person. I saw her doing that same Brewer dance in Panera on 21st yesterday.
@Tanya, I have to be honest and say his ‘hands behind his head’ moves at the end are totally original. He didn’t learn that one from me. I have no idea where he got that!
Heheheheh . . . guffaw . . . *snort . . . heheheheheheheh! Totally awesome. Also excellent blackmail material for when they do his senior slideshow at high school graduation.

I love to dance and sing and generally act like a complete fool while driving to embarrass my 16 year old sister… When I do the same thing with my 16 month old, she thinks it’s pretty awesome. I wonder at what age that switch will flip?

I’ve been busted more than once singing at the top of my lungs in the car. Not much on dancing in the car though.
When the kids were small I used to make up stupid songs and teach them to Sherry and the kids and we would sing at the top of our lungs going down the road. They still say it is some of their favorite memories. Although I did not write this, it was one of our favorites as well.
I like to go bowling with my friend Bert,
My bowling ball, and my bowling shirt.
I like to roll the ball down the lane.
On a good day I’ll throw a few strikes,
And maybe some spares, that’s what I like.
Bowling is my kind of game.
I aim for the one pin, two pin, three pin, four,
Five pins down the lane.
With a boom and a bang they hit the floor,
And I throw the ball again.
I like to go bowling with my friend Bert,
My bowling ball, and my bowling shirt.
Bowling is my kind of game.

@Megan, I think you coined it. The “wash the back” move. I like it.
can I just ask… who’s watching the road while your taping this?

@Regina, no worries I’m really good.

I don’t know whats better….your 3 year old dancing in the car or the fact that you’re playing hip-hop for your 3 year old and his dance moves seemingly coincide with the lyrics meaning he has heard this song more than once…haha!

Of course!!! My teenagers are so embarrassed by it!!! I was totally humbled the other day, though, when the baby (15 mo) began laughing at my ‘dance moves’!!!
And, my opinion only, I think that should be ‘the Brewer’ instead of the ‘wash the back’!!! Too adorable!
.-= bluegoose´s last blog ..Summer is already over??? Seriously??? =-.
LOVE it!! Of course I sing and dance in the car…my old roommate and I even created a car dance…it was pretty good if I do say so myself!!!
Awesome! Kid got the MOVES! Kids are so innocent and wide open about expressing themselves. They throw caution to the wind and let it out! Isn’t it a shame that, as we grow older, we become self conscious and inhibited and begin to worry about what others think about us. We don’t want to look stupid or silly. Kids just know they are having fun. Of course, I guess I would look pretty silly bustin’ the moves Lil’ Brew just laid down! HA!
And honestly, I thought Brewer picked up the behind the back moves from you at your last backyard cook-out. It looked like you swatting mosquitoes! The “Pete swattin’ Skeeters” move.
That was awesome. Very nice. I think he’s ready to learn the seawalk.

jus sayin.
Xo)
P.S. I think our next series at CP should have to do with dancing, at Brewer can do a little intro.
As long as the crowd doesn’t get carried away and start dancing- especially that darn Jessica Holmes chic. She dances like a crazy person. She can’t be stopped.

I tell you, you’re raised Baptist and you pay for that…for years of defiant behavior. Being raised Presbyterian, we believed in dancing, but nobody knew how. No rhythm. At all. I’m still payin’ for that. Glad the next generation has true SOUL. Go, Li’l Brew!
Well, for the record, I was raised non-Christian so I have some extra special cool dance moves. And yes, me and my boys sing/dance in the car on almost a daily basis. We sing and dance in our kitchen too….it is safer.

Awesome. Lil Brewer has some moves. Thanks for sharing-my 3 kids enjoyed this immensely and could not help but join in!
That’s awesome! I love the “wash the back/scratch the neck” move!
My boyfriend and I drove separately somewhere the other day, so he followed me for about 10 miles. When we arrived, he said he was surprised that I’d never been stopped by a highway patrolman wanting me to take a breathalizer test or just checking to make sure I wasn’t having a seizure or something. Then he winked. He’s such a stick in the mud, but he loves to watch me dance!
I LOVE Falguni’s quote! I don’t care who gets a free show at the stoplights. I’m usually so full of joy it can’t help but overflow…
i’m not bragging, but he totally gets his moves from me…

Could that child be any cuter!? And yes, I sing and dance all the time in the car (well, sing more than dance really…never was much of a dancer!) My three year old tells me “sshhh mama, I liss’ning!”. My five year old however, clapped, sang and danced to Mandisa in her carseat the whole way to school one day last week! Sweet!

Yes, I love to sing and dance in the car. Other folks probably don’t like watching me though. I’ve been told by my former pastor that his and my theme song should be the old Phil Collins song— I can’t dance and I can’t sing, it must be something about the way that I walk….
