I’m officially declaring this weekend national “brag on your spouse” weekend. I’ll kick it off for you.
This week my wife fixed two of our toilets in the house all by herself. With absolutely zero plumbing skills she somehow found a way to replace the fill valves and said less than five cuss words in the process.
I know we all have different definitions of sexy but there is nothing hotter than a wife who can moonlight as a plumber.
Your turn. Brag on your spouse.
(If you’re not married you can brag on your boyfriend or girlfriend. If you don’t have a boyfriend or girlfriend you can brag on a friend. If you don’t have a friend you need to stop reading this blog and get a life.)

My fiancee (@septemberlily on twitter) knows EVERYTHING there is to know about dogs, dog breeds, etc.

Today he’s working on his dad’s car. Last week he took care of another parishoner’s vehicle. Earlier this week he took me away for three days to golf, just to get away together. http://www.squidoo.com/myknight
My wife is an amazing woman, mother, and all-around great person.
She just got her bachelors degree in June and is starting on her Masters this month.
Also, she is hotter than the day we met 17 years ago.
My wife lets me watch anything on TV that I want. but guess what? I always end up picking something that she loves….wait a minute! Do you think that she knows some sort of Jedi mind trick? Oh, then I can brag that my wife can do Jedi mind tricks!

Although I am married I spent part of yesterday bragging on my friends. I posted it on my blog at http://tinyurl.com/naev9m.
I just typed a comment and it got lost, now I have to reconstruct it…..
…My wife (of 3 weeks now) has been my best friend for 14 years! She is the only person, other than my mother, who stood beside me and encouraged me with the love of Jesus through 7 years of meth addiction. And now seven years after defeating it, I was able to make her my wife! What a woman!! He who finds a wife, finds a good thing!!

The Love of my life is an amazing Doctor.. Not only does God use her hands to heal people’s spines but He uses her smile to light up a room full of people when she walks in…
My wife doesn’t think of me as less than a man for the times when I feel like circumstances in life are crushing me & don’t just try to Chuck Norris every problem with emotionless action. I can be completely honest with her and she never turns those things around to use against me when she’s mad.

@David, I love it dude! 17 years? Congrats bro.
My husband of ten years is a great father to our three children, great husband, great web designer, great homeschool partner and an amazing man of God. The walk here has not been easy by any stretch of the imagination, but he’s stuck it out with me, and we’re finally settling into a good place.
I love it that the men are currently out bragging the women! Ohhhhh, then again we might have a lot more to brag on. Shame on us.
Had a friend (I guess, not sure who it was) leave a card on my car yesterday that had the most encouraging message in it. Even more of a blessing is that I went through a lot of names of friends that would be willing to do something like that.

my husband (@brianderson) is a teacher, and yesterday was literally his only real day of summer break, because he spent it:
-leading worship for my junior high kids at camp
-filming and editing 5 15-minute videos for our high school summer trip
-taking 3 online classes
-rocking his finals and getting all the paperwork together to officially get his teaching certification
-being a leader/worship leader/videographer for our high school summer trip
-editing over 20 hours of video into a 20 minute reunion video for that trip
-leading worship for 5th and 6th graders at VBS
-planning and leading worship for our contemporary service at church each sunday
oh, and taking care of his pregnant wife. can’t forget that!! i got tired even typing that list. yesterday was ‘brian day’ and we did whatever he wanted, because today he is back in his classroom getting ready for school to start in a week. ROCK. STAR.

My wife is an absolutely amazing woman who always knows how to cheer me up when my diabeetus(/wilford brimley) is acting up, or I’ve had a horrible day at work. And on top of that, she has no problem with me being a nerd, and she goes to comic book conventions with me. I really couldn’t have asked for a better spouse.
My Fiancee (@hansmarie) is the most patient woman, besides my mom, in this world. She still loves me after almost 3yrs. and I think its just grown even with my short fuse. We will tie the knot next sunday!

friends brag: i have the best friends in the world. there are not enough words to even begin describing them; all i know is they bless my life every day and live all over the place!
My boyfriend is simply the best. He is an Iraq war Veteran. He is the bravest, strongest, man I know. He has such a giving heart. His goal in life is to help everyone out. He’s give you the shoes off his feet if he thought you needed them more than he did. He’s an amazing man with a heart pure as gold! I also have to add that he’s a very talented singer/songwriter!!!
Pete, my wife is cool. She just gave me a 1984 (year we were married = 25) Fender Strat for my 50th birthday. Now that’s hot.
@woody, that totally rocks.
It’s hard for me even to narrow it down. I don’t know if I can articulate here how awesome I know he is. First and foremost, he brought me to Jesus 13 years ago. Then, he whisked me away to San Fran & dropped to one knee 11 years ago. He works hard, plays hard, puts in more than his share of housework and parenting time with our 3 kids. He volunteers at church and is Mr. Fix-it (literal & figurative) for us, the neighbors and friends. He still finds ways for us to get away for date nights and weekend retreats. He said YES right away when I asked a year ago if I could go to Nashville to work on my album – had 5 trips between Jan & April. He never once hesitated. He’s now working as my manager, booking agent, promoter, merchandise creator, inventory organizer, sound tech and so much more. Oh, and did I mention he’s a full-time commercial photographer, freelance sports photographer (where does he even find the time?) and pretty amazing cook to boot.
WHEW! That’s just the tip – and I’m so blessed.
My wife is the most amazing woman I know. She loves people in a way that I am always amazed at. She is a school counselor and loves the kids at school with a Jesus kind of love.
She is an amazing mom doing a great job of teaching our 3 kids.
She serves at church and invests in the lives of other people.
She allows me to have the freedoms to serve God and to enjoy my hobby of officiating sports.
Next Friday is our 10 year anniversary and I feel like the luckiest man on earth.
My wife rocks my world and my son’s! She is the one taking a turn at working 2 very stressful jobs to be sure we have what we need to get by! Thank you Kelly!
I love her with all my being!
My wife watches Top Gear with me and loves it!
She also plays video games with me on nights when neither of us feel like cleaning. She’s got good taste, too, we play a lot of Starcraft.
She’s teaching our three-year-old and one-year-old. The oldest is beginning to “get” phonics, to the point she can sound out simple words, and the youngest can recognize letters.
She gets up at 5:30 AM every morning to begin her day with coffee and whatever kid wakes up first. By the time I’m up, dressed and ready for work, the kids have been up an hour, are fed and playing and she’s started on whatever chores she’s decided are top priority. I’ve usually got a to-go cup of sweet, iced tea ready for me when I’m ready to walk out the door, and I get kisses and hugs and lots of waves goodbye as I leave for work.
My wife is amazing.

Anyway, I absolutely adore my beautiful spouse, Tammy!
When I met her, I had just ended a long relationship with someone else. The minute I got to know Tammy, it was as if, she was exactly what I needed. She completed me. It was incredible. Now after almost 18 years of marriage, she has proven to be an incredible mom, teacher, leader, writer, lover, friend and partner. I couldn’t wish for any more and I would be heart broken to experience anything less.
I love you Tam!

My wife works the hardest job in the world – stay at home mom and homeschooler to our three kids – and NEVER gets a day off, even if she’s sick. She makes dinner for the family every night. She’s learned to enjoy all of my silly hobbies. She is, in a word, amazing.
My husband is a very hard worker(self-employed) He is away for 7 days for a conference. While he is gone, I am working on many, many small projects around the house that he just doesn’t have the time to complete.
Like: the 3 bahtroom sinks that have been in the closet for 2 years that need to be replaced (his dad is helping me out on some of these).
I got him a ceiling fan for his birthday, it needed to be hung.
Painting 2 rooms in our house.
He wants his barn cleaned out and organized, if I could I would. But I’ll leave that–it’s man space!
Thanks for being such a GREAT husband and Father! I hope it’s a big surprise to him when he gets home!

OMG! How can I do this in few words?
Just 3 nights ago, I came across a journal of conversations between God & myself dated Aug 22 – Sept 2 1998. Without indulging too much info it started w/ Lord, teach me to be anxious for nothing & ended w/ Love is Faithful, Love is kind. Somewhere in the middle I was believing God for a spouse … (my spouse had died more than a year earlier), a spouse chosen for me by God. 8-31-98 Record the Vision, For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries wait for it for it will certainly come, it will not delay. Habakkuk 2, 2-3. You see, my vision was a promise of a life full of happiness, with a husband that loved me as Christ loves the church, a man after God’s own heart, w/a passion for God, life & love. He’s compassionate, considers others b4 himself, a provider, lover, husband & father. . .priest of our home, artistic, & creative. This was what God promised and He promised nothing~No Thing would stop this powerful force. This was eleven years ago this month and we will celebrate our 11th Wedding Anniversary this December. He’s everything God promised me. So, I am bragging on him & God!!
My Big Al still (after 27 years) makes my heart flutter!
*I’m VERY near sighted, and once went shopping with him and later we “went our separate ways.” As I was rounding the corner of an aisle, I catch a glimpse of a man far off in the distance and I thought to myself, “He sure is handsome.” The closer he walked toward me, I noticed it was Big Al himself! Even my “blind eyes” recognized him and thought he was HAWT!
He’s also just a good man. Simple. Easy to please, and lets me BE ME! I don’t know of anyone who could speak ill of him. Very merciful to all.

I’ve got the most wonderful wife. She is a great mom to her 4 kids. She has been so helpful to me as I became an “instant dad” when we married 5 years ago. She is also a incredibly accomplished engineer. She is at the top of her field and approaches every job with the utmost integrity. I am so incredibly blessed to call her my wife.
My husband just picked up 27 hours on the weekends (in addition to the 40 he’s already working) and registered to go back to school in Sept. We’re planning on getting out of debt, then he’s going to finish school to provide for us.
I’m never going to see him (it seems), but I know that he’s doing it so we can have a better life in a few years. He’s pretty great.
A year and a half ago, our marriage was way off-kilter. The specifics are a long story but it comes down to this: We were really disconnected- and that allowed my husband to build an emotional relationship with my best friend right under my nose. I found out before it could turn sexual, but not before they shared a kiss. Regardless of the extent of the physical relationship, the emotional betrayal was still a double-whammy and was very real.
God took us through this incredible transformation for about a year after the relationship came to light. It was insane- one of the hardest experiences of my life. But the result was so worth it… we fought like mad to make things work, and one day I realized I wasn’t hurting anymore. We were restored- and we emerged as this totally united, purposeful couple. Our marriage is so much different and better than it was before.
We recently lost our first pregnancy at 7 weeks. The baby was unexpected in a good way, and the miscarriage was obviously unexpected in a bad way. The night the doctor confirmed we were losing the baby, my husband sat in the middle of our bedroom floor with me and held my head to his chest while I bawled until I was exhausted. He didn’t say anything. He didn’t have to.
We were both mourning our baby, but he was holding it together so I could melt down. He hasn’t always acted perfectly- who has?- but when it all comes crashing down, he’s everything I need him to be. How can I ask for more than that?
(I think my comment is longer than your blog. LOL.)
This Monday (August 10) it will have been 24 years of marriage and I have to say that it has been an amazing privilege and honour to journey through life with my amazing wife. We have been through all the ups and downs of life – illness, heartbreak, loss, burnout – and I am bragging on my wife not only because she has put up with all my stuff through the years but because she has allowed God to cultivate in her a passion for his presence and a humility that is evidenced in her willingness to follow Jesus even into the hard moments of life.
I am a much better man because of her. She rocks.

I am so blessed by being able to call this man with the biggest heart I have ever seen, my husband! I thank God for evry day that I have been blessed being with him.

My husband makes me feel like there’s no one else in the world he’d rather hang out with. He laughs at my jokes, listens to my Edith Bunker style stories and emails, calls or texts when he’s traveling.

I forgot to brag on my wife. She puts up with a lot from me which is a big thing in itself.
She is STRONG.
I have watched her take care of her mother while she was dying from cancer. I have been by her side while she mourned the loss of 4 children to miscarriage. She is an amazing mother to our disabled daughter and she has given the gift of independence to our youngest daughter.
She is strong…but I am lucky to see her when she just needs me. That is a special gift.

When I saw the title to this post, I immediately clicked on it, because I couldn’t wait for a chance to brag on my husband.
I’ll just say it.
I have the best husband in the entire world.
He’s extraordinarily patient, kind, sincere, hilarious, thoughtful to a ridiculous tee, supportive, trustworthy, hot…I could go on and on and on.
He brings out the absolute best in me.
We’re having our first child in February and I can’t wait to see what an amazing father I know he’ll be.
My car didn’t have air. I live in Florida. It’s August. I was melting. My boyfriend set up an appointment to have my air fixed and surprised me. He asked me to meet him, drove my car to the mechanics and let me use his car until it was finished. AND if that wasn’t enough… he paid. Sorry ladies, he’s taken!!!

My man…where do I begin? He has taken the vows to me very seriously. He gets up every day and goes to work and then comes home every night. He is so handy, too. He loves to do woodwork like cabinets and stuff.
I think the greatest thing he has done is let my daughter come home with her two small children to live with us. Then, she had a friend that has some issues at home and she is living here too. We have 7 people under one roof. Six of those are female. He puts up with all of us! What a guy!
Pete, I could brag on my wife for many reasons. But one instance: Some years ago we were building a piece of furniture. I was varnishing the pieces of wood on newspaper I’d laid over our carpeted office floor (no room in the garage right then). I finished, stood up, and stepped back – right onto the nearly-full, open, gallon can of varnish on another newspaper behind me. It flipped – and I mean flilpped. Varnish all over the office carpet! I figured I was about to get one of the most well deserved chewing-outs of my life! Instead, my wife started to laugh. Not a chuckle – a side-holding, can’t stop, best-joke-in-the-world laugh. I had no idea how she could think it was funny – it sure seemed disastrous to me. But right then I knew what a gem I’d married!
This is great as usual Pete.
We’ve had a tough time lately and I’m so humbled to see Mike’s heart so tender towards God and so sensitive to what He wants for us.
When the times are tough having a spouse that has a relationship with God is more important than anything else I think.

My hot husband is awesome in the sack. I’m not trying to be funny either. I have never been disappointed and we’ve been doing each other for over 12 years now.
There is nothing hotter than a man who can fix anything that breaks…and well, my husband can’t fix a darn thing.
BUT, he is a true partner, awesome daddy, best friend, and he has never never ever discouraged me from anything in our 9 years together. He is an encourager and supporter through and through. Like Brandi…I do all the hot repairs in the house.

Very sweet, Pete!
Sam is incredibly humble and even hates when I tell anyone this – but he is truly a genius…literally. He tested as one and he took some different classes in school, etc… He really is a brainiac!
He’s also an amazing sketcher… he can whip up a little drawing like a professional artist – it totally ‘wows’ me every time I look over and he’s got a quickie sketch of a person, car or (of course) an airplane – it’s pretty amazing!
OK. Must ask a question.
How many times did Brandi ask you to fix the toilets before she became Hot Plumbing Lady?
Because that’s the only way Jessica would EVER consider moonlighting as a plumber–after she had asked me to do it about 50 times and I kept putting it off or forgetting it or watching Family Guy instead.
She’s learned how to do a lot of cool stuff this way: electrical work, hanging pictures on walls, painting, etc…
So, come on, Pete, confess…
My totally great wife, as many women do, wears many hats – and with great panache. She is an office manager, wife, mom, homeschool teacher, gourmet cook and homemaker. Just this week she got the “all clear” from her cancer Dr. – the amazing thing to me is that she sees EVERY situation as a way to show God’s love – I’m humbled by her example.
My husband is as close to perfect as it gets this side of Heaven and I tell everyone I know how blessed I am. He is an amazing man, an incredible father, and a true man of God. He is cutting wood today in 100 degree heat for extra money because his heart’s desire is for me to be able to be home for our kids. I am so far from easy to live with and he never makes it seem like I’m a burden. Without him and my kids, I would have nothing in my life.
She got me a Nintendo DS for my birthday instead of something from Lowes! Let’s see, it’s 90 degrees…now should I play Burnout (again) or work in the yard?
@MPT…I was wondering the EXACT same thing.
oh yeah….@Evan….we watch Top Gear together too…that is, when we’re not watching the baseball channel, and no, this isn’t a dream. So why do I keep pinching myself? I love my wife more than words could ever express.
My wife Nancy continues to amaze me after knowing her almost 20 years (married 16)! She parents our 4 children wonderfully! She makes homemade lunches and dinner almost every night! She keeps the family calendar, medical records, birthday list and everything else you can imagine a large family needs! She even sends thank you notes to people on my side of the family for us! She loves her parents and mine just as much as hers. Truly amazing.
Right now we are moving and I’m 1500 miles away. She’s continued to do all those duties and kept a very clean house for the last 3 weeks. It was so clean it sold! And then she dynamically started fixing things while I was gone, like a fireplace that wouldn’t start. I can’t even do that! I tried several times.
She’s simply awesome and having a tough day with the air conditioner and solo parenting. This is the longest we’ve ever been apart. Send prayers for her toward Minnesota!
Thanks, Dooze. You are one of the few realities that has turned out better than my dreams!
Love, me.
@MPT, she may have asked a few times.
My husband and I are separated, but this week (unbeknown to me) he picked up my car from the mechanic, paid the bill then went to have it inspected. I got home and there was my car in the driveway. This is why…no matter what…I LOVE THIS MAN!
My best friend is such an amazing Woman, she lost her Husband and best friend on Aug 1st, she put together the most beautiful service for him, and as she was speaking to everyone during the funeral, her voice did not even crack one time…..and I thought that I was the strong one.
My husband arranged to get off work a little early to take me to see the new movie “Julie and Julia” on opening night. He’s worked so hard in the last 9 months to lose over 75 lbs with lap-band surgery, but was gladly taking me to a movie about food. When I canceled the night before because my college aged son had a church softball game, he didn’t get mad and even came straight from work to the game!!
I love that my husband brings me chocolate and starbucks when he knows I’ve had a BAD day. I love that whenever I leave to go out of town and he’s at home with the kids, when I come back the house looks better than when I left. He’s a great daddy and the greatest friend I could ask for!
My Wife Seriously kicked my butt this morning running. She is way ahead of me regarding endurance and speed.
My husband is a great helper and awesome Father. He does 95% of our washing, drying and folding clothes. My favorite part was he would stay up late to make sure our kids had clean uniforms after late night ball games.
I think the most tender thing that has hit me this week is what a wonderful dad he is to our 3 kids. When he comes home from work, they are all over him. There’s so much laughter! He’s in charge of the bedtime ritual and they always prefer daddy to read them a few bedtimes stories instead of me. (probably because he either reads all the pages …. I sometimes skip a few… or he’ll “embellish” the story with such amazing imagination!
I could go on and on but tonight, this is one thing that just makes me happy to be married to such a wonderful man.

OK – I know it’s technically not the weekend anymore but I couldn’t pass up a chance to brag on my wife.
My wife has always been a huge supporter of mine, sticking by my side when there was no worldly reason for her to. We continue to grow closer every day.
I accepted a “part-time” position at a church a few months back. My wife had to leave the only church home she ever knew. It was incredibly hard for her and I still don’t think she’s completely adjusted. However, she has been amazing as she has been listening to God’s leading on her and she has now started up what I know will be an amazing woman’s ministry program and is stepping up to do a lot of work with the children’s ministry. In addition to that she is completely supportive of me and the work that I am doing there with their worship and youth programs.
I am so thankful to be working alongside her doing God’s work.
