Were these photos taken in Kolkata? While walking through the Sonagachi district at dusk in 2008, a madam dressed in bright yellow grabbed me by the arm and stopped me. I never forgot her face and have prayed for her ever since. Strangely, she looks just like the woman in your photo.

I’m returning in March to work with Calcutta Mercy Ministries and Kids with Destiny, who have an online education program for kids of women in the sex trade who would otherwise have no future.

Was VERY uncanny to read the anonymous quote you used to open this blog, within hours after I’d e-mailed Anne a quote from David Kuo that said the same thing in slightly different words. David went on the same Uganda trip as Anne, and ended up asking God why he allowed such suffering. David said God told him “I don’t. You do.” (Anne has the full quote.)

You can most certainly see the difference between Kiran's smile and the light in her eyes and the smiles that the other girls offered... My prayer today is for those girls to meet Jesus and that He would reach into their hearts so that they can receive the redemption that so many of us have and don't deserve...
