Here WE Go…

We’ll I’m less than 24 hours away from boarding the plane for my trip to India with Compassion with THIS INCREDIBLE TEAM.  If you read this blog often you know I don’t ask a lot of you guys but I want to ask you to do a couple things for me over the next 10 days.

1) Please Pray: Pray for wisdom, safety and guidance. As you know India can be a country that is not always welcoming to Christians and our message. I read the other day about certain groups that offer $250 to kidnap and kill pastors. Clearly, I’ll be carrying about $255 with me.

I really believe this is going to be a life changing trip for me. You guys know my passion to reach the under resourced around the world and I feel I’m going to get a big piece of that vision on this trip. While there I’ll also be looking for a project for Cross Point to establish a long term partnership with.

2) Help Me Get the Word Out: I feel Compassion has taken a risk with me and our blog community here at Without Wax. There are some wonderful bloggers with massive readerships going on the trip. However,  they believe in what God is doing here and think this is an important blog to share the vision of what Compassion is doing in India.

PLEASE CONSIDER PUTTING THIS IMAGE ON YOUR BLOG FOR THE NEXT 10 DAYS! It’s super simple – just copy and paste the code.  The first image will link back directly to my own view of Calcutta and the stories I’ll be telling. If you’re a geek, you can enlarge to 380px wide by changing it in the code.  Please just help us spread the message of the hope and love in Calcutta. The second image will send people directly to compassion where they can sponsor a child from India.

And while I’m in the air for the next day or so I’ll leave you with this fun little video detailing some of my adventures with Anne leading up to the departure. I can only imagine the trouble we’re going to get into over there! God be with us.

Praying right now for you Pete, Anne, Angie, and the rest of the team. Praying that God would prepare and lead you to those in poverty, despair, and sickness that yearn for hope, love and healing. Praying for God to open up the hearts of those he wants to assure of the deep love and mercies of their Father. Trusting and anticipating God will use your “yes” in amazing ways to bring heaven to earth.

Lol, I noticed the farmer tan also. Pete, I’m proud of you since I also fear needles. I’m brave about injections now, but I do usually lie down just in case I feel faint. Getting a shot is WAY easier than having to give blood. ICK!!! Cannot stand that! There is a for-real phobia called Blood/Needle or Blood/Injury Phobia and it’s been a huge battle for me most of my life. Just the thought of blood can cause me to faint. I’ve been praying for a healing from this for years.

I’ll be praying for you and Anne, and I’m putting the widget on my blog also. Have a blast and may God bless and protect you.

Praying for you and your team. Just heard tonight that India may get drawn into Pakistan situation with Taliban 60 miles from having nuclear weapons. There was a comment that US may begin to call Americans in these areas home for safety. I have always felt the safest while I am on God’s Mission, His perfect will. I will be praying for you and the team…you will have mighty warrior angels to protect you. He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

    Hi,
I was in Bangalore a few years ago. The cab rides are what I could call “A toe curling experience”. By this I mean you are praying that nothing happens as you swing out into the oncoming traffic lanes with a host of other vehicles (truck included) until oncoming traffic starts approaching and everybody honks to merge back in to the proper lane. It brings new meaning to the old Disneyland “E” ticket ride.
One of the most incredible sites that I observed was a blind man walking across a busy boulevard with only his stick. Everybody went around him.
I pray that your trip to India is compassionate, fruitful and rewarding.
God’s hand is clearly there. I pray that your team is the light of Jesus among the casts.

    Blessings to you all.
    -Steve
