Random Thoughts On Easter

  • Where do I start? There are no words to express how thankful I am for how God used Cross Point Church this weekend.
  • So proud of the hundreds of people who partnered together this weekend to pull off 8 different services. From our staff to our wonderful volunteers you guys used your gifts and abilities to create amazing life changing environments. I never heard one single volunteer or staff member complain about all the hours they invested this weekend. I think we all felt God was allowing us to be a part of something unique and special.
  • KidStuff at the Nashville campus was phenomenal. I love to watch kids worshiping with their parents. Loved the butterfly release. That was a first!!
  • Wish I could have attended at least one service at the Dickson campus, but I heard things went amazing.
  • I was literally blown away to watch so many people put their faith in the risen Christ for the first time in each service. That never gets old. Never!!
  • To top things off…. My son, Jett, accepted Christ this weekend! We stayed up Saturday night talking with him and Brandi and I had the opportunity to pray with him to accept Christ. I’m so proud of him and can’t wait to see what God does in his young life.
  • Had a great time with my family at my mom’s house for Easter lunch. I was tired but worked very hard to make sure my kids didn’t get my leftover energy. Mom, the sweet potatos were awesome as always!
  • Only disappointment of the whole weekend: Kenny Perry not winning the playoff at the Masters. I’ve played his course just up the road in Franklin, KY several times. Met him one day in the club house and thought he was a super guy.
  • Super excited about our next series “Hope Now” which starts next Sunday. CLICK HERE to send an evite to a friend. More on the new series later this week.

How was your weekend?

  4. Best Easter ever, hands down. It was such a blessing to be able to serve this weekend for the Church that has given me a new life. Thanks to the production team at Crosspoint for pouring their hearts and souls into each and every service to make it super extraordinary. Thank you to God for allowing us all to gather and have a wonderful weekend. He really knew what he was doing when He put it in your hearts to create Crosspoint. AMAZING!!

  5. Yea Jett!! How awesome!

Great service, I am truly amazed at how much of yourself you have to give to be able to do 6 services!! and 6 amazing services!! Love the Easter pictures!

also Tiana’s part in the service yesterday – incredible!!! Love the picture you took of her doing it! She’s a really good friend of mine and actually is the person that invited my boyfriend and I to CrossPoint (over a year ago)

We’re glad to be a part of this Church family!!

  7. That is so great about Jett!! Wow.

You had posted that we shouldn’t miss the first 5 minutes of the Easter Service. One of my favorite Easter memories was at dinner last night, when I successfully convinced my husband, Marcia and Mike that I’d heard you were gonna come out from behind a rock and fly through the sky on a zip line. I added some reality to my story by saying that’s how soundman Wayne’s nose was cut at Saturday’s service.
I finally had to tell them I made it up.

We all really enjoyed the actual first 5 minutes… although you can use my zip line idea for a future service, (I’d suggest leaving out the rock part)

  8. What amazing news about Jett. I bet that was an incredible moment! I am so happy for Jett, and for Jesus.

It was a beautiful service, this weekend. I’m always amazed at how much I think I’m as grateful everyday for the death on the cross…but then the Easter service always tears me to pieces. I am so excited, that so many people this weekend, across the world, may have come to know our Savior.

  9. Pete, your message was AWESOME! As many times as I’ve read and heard
Ephesians 1:19-20 it has never impacted me quite like Saturday night. Thank you. Also, I loved your input on how we all know what happened on “Good Friday” and we all know what happened on “Resurrection Sunday” but we never really think of what happened on Saturday. I’m certain there WAS a lot of hopelessness that day. Just as I have hopelessness; yet the same power that lives in me is the power that raised Christ from the dead!! Whoa!

  11. I was excited to have 4 beautiful friends attend with me – 3 who don’t regularly attend Crosspoint and 2 who don’t regularly attend church at all. 1 who is looking forward to attending regularly, starting with the new Hope series!

I told these fabulous women that if my husband was always around for holidays, I would be missing out on some amazing holiday times with girlfriends. And though I LOVE my husband and miss him on holidays especially, I can now see where God will use that to bless others and myself through them – with an opportunity to gather in all my girlfriends whose families are far away as well.

  17. This weekend was the most awe inspiring Easter weekend of my life. I went to our Saturday night service and then volunteered for 2 of the Sunday services. All I can say is, “thank you Jesus that you died on that cross and that You rose again”. I obviously do not have appropriate words to articulate what He worked in me this weekend. All I can do is humble myself and accept the opportunities to serve that He laid in my heart this weekend.

  35. Y’all, I’m Catholic, so help me out here: what exactly does it mean when you say that someone “accepted Christ this weekend”?

Now don’t be shocked. We just don’t do that, whatever it is, in the Catholic religion. I guess we assume everyone who shows up for mass accepts Christ, but it sounds like this is something monumental for other Christian religions, yes?
