The Big Game

Jett Wilson depressed over the end of football season

I heard this morning 75% of Americans say they’re planning on watching the Superbowl tomorrow night. That’s impressive. I’m not sure whether to be excited about the Superbowl or depressed it signifies the end of yet another football season.

Jett said last weekend. “I can’t believe we have football for like 6 months and then all of the sudden it’s just over. Why do they do that to us Dad? It’s just not fair. Can’t they play year around?”

His statement brought a tear to my eye. My little boy is becoming a man.

So who do you think is going to win the “big game”?  Leave your predicition, along with the score,  in the comments and I’ll declare the winner of the first annual “Without Wax Superbowl Prediction Contest”  on Sunday night.

My Prediction: Cardinals 27- Steelers 20

82 Comments:

  1. Cardinals 26. Steelers 7

(I have no idea, I’m just doing “THe Price IS RIGHT” thing where one contestant, who is also clueless, just gives a number really close to the guy before her.)

Seriously though, I would love to see Arizona get their first win…BUT I don’t see Pittsburgh’s defense letting them so I’m going with the AFC North and saying Pittsburgh will win their record 6th Superbowl.

My problem is that I’ve rooted for the Cardinals AND the Steelers all season, but didn’t expect them to both make it… now it’s like choosing between friends. But hometown boy Kurt gets my loyalty every time.

And I’m with Jett… the weekends just aren’t as fun anymore… I like basketball, but it’s basically just a placeholder until football is back.

That’s because I figured if Jesus wanted to take home a bride without spot or wrinkle, a bride that’s devoted to Him without reservation, not about to two-time on him with something else, then He’d do the Rapture thing during the Super Bowl.

I nearly go into mourning when the college season ends, but after the superbowl it’s pathetic. (I also am married and have sons) I am not into the NBA and I would rather watch paint dry than watch baseball on tv, so until the Summer X games and then football again, I am forced to watch Nascar.
