Comments on: Your Advice For Obama

I’m Ricky Cook’s sister-in-law and found your blog through Ricky and Carmen. I just cried through the Bush daughter’s video and now feel compelled to offer my belated advice to our new president. I’ve been asked this question several times and I’ve never written down what I have thought each and every time.

If I could offer one piece of advice it would be to CALL OUT FOR GOD’S WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING.

I’ve been memorizing Proverbs 2 this month and I everytime I read the first 6 verses I think of our new Commander in Chief:

My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. (Proverbs 2:1-6)

@Paula- respectfully, your comment is ridiculous! I know plenty of Republicans who are not Christians. Republican does not = Christian!!!! close minded beliefs like this are what keep our country divided.

for me – I’m finding it real hard to rise above anything resembling something more than abject apathy as I think that “My give a darn’s busted.” It’s just another president that’s gonna talk all sweet & all to our face while working their hands around your back to reach your wallet. ehh!?
