I can’t believe it, but my blog is one year old today. Happy Birthday Without Wax! I don’t have a cake for everyone, but I did spend some time last night going through my posts over the past year. It was a lot of fun. I listed a few of my favorites below.
This past year has been an amazing year as I’ve gotten the opportunity to make so many new friends through the blog. I can’t thank you enough for making this blog such a cool community to interact with. You’ve stretched me, entertained me, and most of all invited me into the story of your life through the 15,143 comments you’ve left.
On our one year birthday why don’t we do a little roll call.
Drop in and leave me a comment telling me who you are, where you live and if you blog leave you blog url for us.
Do yourself a favor and drop in and visit each others’ blogs today if you have time.

Both of you, thanks for putting your faith and lives out there for the world to see. I think I can speak for us all with the exception of G.I. and say we appreciate it more than you will ever know.

I’m still blogging on stage/set designs to enhance the worship experience. I lean towards the experiential elements. I like to engage all the senses in worship.

Dear Mr. Without Wax,
We love your blog! We read it all the time here at work. But do you think it would be possible to change the name?
Sincerely,
Yours friends at the Yankee Candle Company
Okay, seriously! Happy Birthday! I could lie and say that I’ve been here from the start, but I’ve only been reading since December (and lying is wrong). But I’m glad we blog rolled each other even steven (snort!)
Oh, and get THIS! FROG UPDATE:
I was on the back patio (aka large slab of concrete) with my dog, Buddy Love and when I opened the back door, I heard and felt a big, wet SPLAT! on my forearm. I looked down to discover that there was a slimy, bright green TREE FROG on my arm! So, I did what anyone would have done in that situation, I screamed AAARRRRGGGHHHH! at the top of my lungs, shook it off my arm and ran in the house like a 4 year old girl. And do want to know the worst part? When I told my husband what I was screaming about, HE ROLLED HIS EYES AT ME! and frankly he was incredibly dispassionate (I don’t even know if that’s a word, but I’m on a roll) about my plight. Sure, he was on a conference call with his boss and some investors, BUT STILL! IT WAS A SLIMY, NASTY FROG AND IT WAS ON MY ARM! Okay. Glad I got that off my chest. I feel much better…Happy Birthday, again!
P.S. – Please feel free to delete any or all of my annoying comments. I can assure you, you wouldn’t be the first megachurch pastor blogger to do so.
Without Wax was the second blog I ever read, you had me at hello.

It seems longer than one year and boy, did you rattled some heads in a short period of time, but in my opinion, there were a lot of church Heads (if you know what I mean) that needed some rattling. Good job, now let them find themselves and let’s go build a church full of theives, prostitutes and drunks: one where Christ would feel right at home. Thanks for being the preacher that sent a lost alcoholic the messege that: “anything is possible, nobody’s perfect and EVERYONE is welcome.” I love ya, dude!
@jodyduncan, I truly believe with a church full of guys like you we could change the world!

Happy Birthday Without Wax!!! Pete, your blog has been such an inspiration and I would just like to thank you. I’ve been challenged many days after reading. I am so thankful for people like yourself who aren’t afraid to go where many would refuse. Next time I’m in Nashville I plan on visiting Crosspoint. And hey who knows if things work out I might be a member one day
