My sister flew in from Toledo,Ohio, we haven’t spent a holiday together in years and I haven’t had any family here at my home in about 20 some years. Not because I didn’t want to but because of circumstances beyond my control…it was a very thankful Thanksgiving.

So, I’m a day late… glad to hear your family had a wonderful time! Those family memories are priceless.

We rented a cabin in Bryson City, NC, which is only about 90 minutes away, but far enough. Jack & I went over on Wednesday, enjoyed wandering through Bryson City, finding the diner and the bakery, and the grocery store. We had invited our sons and my parents to join us. Two of the boys and their families joined us along with my parents for Thanksgiving. This was BIG. The first time in 8 years that we’ve had this kind of a gathering. So, we had 8 adults, a six year old and a nine month old baby in a small cabin.
It was a good visit, lots of laughter and tons of food. Made this mom feel pretty good to hear the oldest say, “OH MY GOSH! This food is awesome!”
We stayed at the cabin until this morning, enjoyed exploring another small town yesterday and remained “unplugged” from technology the whole time. (Almost didn’t survive THAT.)

All my kids were home from college and we went to my husbands side of the family and ate ourselves silly and made family pictures out by the lake. Then we drove over to my grandmother’s house and ate again. **sigh** This means exercising like nuts this week! It was actually rather sad to be at my grandmother’s house as our family is small and she is not doing well…..but we had one more Thanksgiving together. (she is 90)

Jay, Alec and I had a great Thanksgiving day. We were at my Mom’s in Florida. She made her famous sticky buns for breakfast, for lunch we snacked so we could save room for that big dinner. We got to also have dinner with my two Aunts as well as a cousin who I haven’t seen in around 10-15 years. It was a great time and made me aware of how thankful I am for everything.

Thanksgiving was spent at two houses, one was a bit tense and stressful, the other was hilarious and joyful. No family, all friends.

We had a lot of relaxing on Thanksgiving, it was as if suddenly dinner appeared on the table and it was amazing. We then packed up a couple of plates for our friends the Jones’. They are 83 and 85 years of age and their family was all out of town, so we enjoyed their company, playing cards and visiting. It was like having grandparents again. It was a lovely evening.

(we were noticably two family members this week. My husband is in a mental hospital and my son is living away right now. But God took GREAT care in ensuring we were fine. In fact it was peaceful and that is Grace)

Hey Pete, my family is from the northwest part of India, Gujarat district. Not to far from Mumbai. All my family lives here but we have several family friends visiting right now who were in lockdown for a while. Hopefully they made it out alright.

We ate at my sister and brother-in-laws. We always invite anyone we know who will be alone, so it’s always exciting to see who else we get to spend Thanksgiving with! Fun!
