Mickey Turns 80

mickey_mouse_1117

I don’t know if you realized it, but Mickey Mouse turned 80 on Tuesday.

Not sure what it is about cartoons that is so entertaining, but they seem timeless. I can remember waking up early on Saturday mornings just so I could watch my favorites. I enjoyed the Snorkles and the Smurfs, but always went back to the classics.

A few of my favorite classics were…Tom and Jerry, The Flintstones, and Woody Woodpecker.

So here’s today’s “all skate” question….

Who is your all time favorite cartoon character?

105 Comments:

  1. This is an easy one. The greatest cartoon character of all time is Sylvester.

  2. For me it has to be Wile E. Coyote. I would watch every Saturday morning in hopes that I would get to see one of the Road runner\Coyote cartoons. His persistaence, faith in ACME products, inventions and unique ways of injuring himself would crack me up everytime. To this day, I STILL laugh when he puts a pair of rocket skates on or ends up getting squished like an accordian!

Too bad the creator stopped writing new stuff for him.

I can’t pick a favorite from my Saturday morning childhood love affair. (Remember when cartoons were only on Saturday morning)? So I will mention a few:

    Yosemite Sam
    Bugs Bunny
    Tom & Jerry
    Heckle & Jeckle
    El Kabong
    Droopy
    Daffy Duck
    Foghorn Leghorn
    Sylvester & Tweety
Fat Albert ( & the BROOOOWWWNNNN Hornet!)
    Tarzan
Ali’s cartoon even though it was short lived
    The Super Friends
    He-Man
    Transformers
    Captain Caveman
    Speed Buggy
    Grape Ape

oh.. I could go on an on.
