From time to time someone will ask me about the Cross Point Dickson campus we planted back in January of this year. Why would you guys take the time, expend the energy, transfer the resources, hire the staff and train the volunteers, to plant another campus west of Nashville? Why?
While one reason would be enough, I’ll share with you 11 reasons I experienced Sunday afternoon while at the Cross Point Dickson picnic.
Luke 15: 3Then Jesus told them this parable: 4“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ 7I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

That’s the best 11 reasons I can think of! W-I-N!
11 single lives changed forever.
Keep it up!
With tears…”thats why!”
Hallelujah!
No better way to answer that question!!! Amazing.
It makes me so happy to see the community that has built/is building at the dickson campus. It also makes me pretty excited to know that we are starting a new campus that wil build that same community!
This is why my family is at Crosspoint and why I enjoy going to Dickson a couple times a month to serve. I figure that, in this time of elections, I can either spend time and effort trying to persuade people to vote for the candidate who I personally think is best suited to seek the will of God OR I can spend my effort trying to bring people to Christ. If I do the latter I can leave it up to God to provide direction in the choices others make in all areas of their lives, not just how they vote. After all, what I personally think might be wrong (not that THAT ever happens, right?). Crosspoint places more importance on bringing people to Christ than any church my family and I have attended in Nashville so that’s where I believe my family needs to serve. There are many other reasons as well but the first 11 are listed above. :>)
isn’t that really what its all about? being in involved in changing someone’s life forever can sometimes be a once in a lifetime thing. be proud to know that you sculpted the course of 11 individuals lives on sunday. if you never baptized another person out of that campus your time and energy has already been made worthwhile.
Good answer.
An old fashion and hearty AMEN!
Pete I hope you don’t mind but I have a prayer request for the viewers.
My wife and I are trying to get back to Germany for full-time missions and I am trying to work on a presentation for churches. I am having some ADD inattentiveness right now, so could anybody reading this just ask God to give me some major focus today for this project?
Thanks.
That’s beautiful! Baptism’s always make me cry.
Awesome!
Amen!! I can never get through a baptism (and apparently, pictures of baptism) without crying. Great answer!
Now, can I convince you to plant a campus in St. Louis…?
As a Dickson Cross Point member, all I can say is thanks to the Nashville Cross Point family from my whole heart! I haven’t ever been in a church situation that takes the lives of each person who crosses the door so much into account. I love the idea of community – not membership. My life has changed so much in the last 10 months. I can’t wait to see how we will continue to grow. Thanks for taking a step out in faith!!!!
Amazing! Thanks for sharing. Those are very good reasons for going.
Awesome! You have the same portable baptismal that we do! Do you guys use yours as a staff hot tub during the week as well?
