You Guys Are Amazing! | WithoutWax.tv by Pete Wilson

You Guys Are Amazing!

On the heels of THIS post from earlier this week, I feel like there is something I need to “say” to you guys as a community here.

You guys amaze me. Just this week Without Wax moved into the top 5,000 blogs (according to technorati) in a world full of 80 million of them.

There are a lot of great blogs out there.

A lot of blogs have better content.

A lot of blog have more wisdom.

A lot of blogs have better pictures.

A lot of blogs are funnier.

A lot of blogs have more focus.

A lot of blogs are more entertaining.

So how has this one moved to the top 5k in just 9 months? Simple. It’s you. It’s the open, honest, community you guys are forming here.

I think Kristen said it best this week when she left this comment…

i have so much to say to all of you here.

you show me God in ways I was never looking for him. You’ve opened my eyes and my heart and i’m a stronger, better, more trusting person for it.

Without Wax is not Pete. Without Wax is all of you. I’m just blessed to get to facilitate it.

Why don’t we do a little community roll call. Leave your name, where you live, and one interesting thing about you so we know you’re reading along. Go, it’s an all-skate.

Theologically and politically, I’ve disagreed with a lot of posts and comments on Without Wax, but I love reading it because the discussions are so interesting and the community so honest and open, even to a leftist bleeding heart like me!
I had three cases of chicken pox as a kid.

@ Brenda: My family just moved from Wisconsin to Glen Allen. They love all there is to constantly do in Virginia. It’s much different than Wisconsin…and they are, of course, enjoying the 80 degree weather still (by this time, Wisconsin is in the 50′s during the day). So we’re living pretty close to one another!

We meet in a metal building with 3 garage doors on each side that we open when its nice out! The Lord has truly blessed our church and although we come in shorts, jeans, cowboy boots, and t-shirts, we are all there for one reason to celebrate our Savior! Oh, and I AM SO NOT a cowboy. I moved from a town where I was a member of a huge First Baptist Church over a year ago so you can imagine the culture shock!!!!!! But I love it!

Isn’t it amazing how God uses blogs to draw his children together and to Himself?

I have got in contact with people over the world through mine, and although I am being challenged to the core in certain areas of my faith by fellow readers and commenters, I am learning a great deal too through those challenges.

    God is awesome!

God bless us all who bask in Pete’s joy for God and the blessings He has brought upon his life and that of his family.

Prayer request: Folks – I have a friend from here in Arkansas who has Lymphoma and she is traveling back and forth to Nashville for her treatments as the fine doctors in Nashville are her last resort as she is battling this for the second time in a little less than 2 years. Please pray for Jeania – http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/jeaniaevans

Thank you Pete for witnessing through the internet. I am sure there are some “old school” pastors who think that this concept is wrong. They must truely think that Al Gore invented the internet, and not GOD.

Vicki Utley and I live in Northridge, CA. I found this blog through another pastor who listed it as one that he reads.

It inspires. Provokes. Leads me to do thing I should do – could do. God wants me to do.

It teaches, reminds, heals, helps, instructs. Godly people sharing life.

One interesting thing about me: I hold javelin throwing records at two universities and one community college. And hardly know one knows about my ‘past life’. So don’t share this with anyone!

    To another 5K!

Something interesting … I am a born marketer (for everyone else – haha) … ok not SO interesting really. How about I’m half Basque? Most people ask what the heck that is so that’s an interesting conversation. My grandmother was full french basque and my grandfather was full spanish basque. My great grandparents were some of the original settlers in Fresno, CA and had one of the first sheep camps.
