Seth Godin, Stuff Christians Like, and My Gum

Most of you know I was at the Catalyst conference last week. I experienced so many incredible things while there that I can’t even begin to blog about all of them.

One of my favorite experiences was a backstage interview I got to be a part of. It was supposed to be a simple interview which included myself and John Acuff (Stuff Christian Like) when all of the sudden, seconds before we go LIVE, Seth Godin walks up and decides to participate.

CLICK HERE to see what happened next (and yes, I was caught on a live feed sticking my gum on the wall before the interview).

If you haven’t already done so, do yourself a favor and check out both of these guys’ blogs. Their blogs couldn’t be more different, but both of them are reaching thousands very effectively. There are now 80 million blogs that exist and Seth has the #1 business blog in the world!

Check out Seth’s blog RIGHT HERE. You’ll be challenged.

Check out John’s blog RIGHT HERE. You’ll laugh your head off.

If I had time to check out one new blog today, what blog do you think I should check out?

Great post, Seth and all the speakers were really incredible (I just posted a pic of Seth on my blog too, he was great). I was at the blogger08 meetup with Acuff but never managed to get over and shake his hand, would have like a chance to meet with you as well, but I did park in your parking lot (haha).

Pete, AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME service yesterday. I wish the baggage series would last the rest of the year. It has helped me in so many ways, you will never know. Thank you so much….also, one question. Did you say yesterday that Seth Godin is not a Christian?

I really think Stacy from louisville’s blog is top notch, she’s along the same lines as SCL. Oh, what the heck did you say yesterday? I follow you and Ann Jackson on twitter and I never did hear what you said at the service that was so horrible.

Before I came by here a friend of mine sent me that video. I was wondering what you were doing :)

That’s pretty cool that you got to do that (the interview not the gum on the wall)

I have read Seth’s book, Purple Cow, at least 25 times. (it takes some people a little longer.. ha!)
I read most every marketing book that comes along but this short paperback really does it for me. I’ve been planning to get a big stack of them and give them out as Christmas presents. I also enjoyed his Free Prize Inside book. I was sorry to hear you say he wasn’t a Christ follower at this time… maybe he’s just got to stop by Cross Point!
I’ll have to check John out.

I am still cocooning from my Catalyst experience. I brought back “Jim and Caspar go to church” to read and its already challenging my conceptions on organized church.

Catalyst was awesome for the things you mentioned earlier… I didn’t have to worry about a lesson plan, email, or meeting that I had to be at. I was just left with a sense of God working in me during that time. I wish that Thursday night’s worship could have lasted longer. Craig’s sermon was riveting and challenging.

I have several things that I need to blog about from that conference… just don’t know when I am going to find time to do so.

By the way, Seth was a class act. Him giving away books to all the attendees was unexpected.
