I am so so proud of my little sweet 2 year old. She just turned 2 on August 1st and this last week she started potty training and basically has got it down. It is such an amazing feeling and yet melts my heart to she her so proud of herself. I just love that the Lord gave life and that I get to watch and experience one of the most amazing things in the whole world...my daughter.
Hurray for no more diapers.

So I can top everyone! lol Oldest -- Jeremy -- has a Masters' in Music Composition and is writing string quartets, orchestra concertos, and marimba duets! And teaching music to little ones! Spiritually -- seeking and completely open to the Lord, but needs to walk with Him. Chris -- a commercial pilot and former member of the Air National Guard. He's a rock-solid Christian, serving in a worship band as well. He's been on several mission trips. Sarah -- also a solid Christian and finishing her 5th year in Aerospace Engineering and then thinking of med school to be an orthopedic surgeon and design new equipment, etc. for that field. She has been to the gulf region on several occasions to help with hurricane relief. Where did these kids come from??!!?? I did everything wrong it seems [I was the kind of mother who tried to shove religion down their throats rather than quietly waiting & trusting in God to reveal Himself, as I have learned now] but God undertakes for us in spite of our failings. I'm so proud of all three...and offer hope to any who are frustrated & discouraged. As we let go and trust Him more, He sweeps in and does the things only He can do! It's not wrong to teach them about Christ, of course, but the difference is in where our trust is -- is it in God Himself, or in our own efforts to reveal Him to them? We must only trust in Him for our children -- not in our churches, our own "grand" parenting or our families. He is faithful as we trust only Him!

Amen to the cats remark! I think they are little demons with fur.

Gavin is learning to read as well. He sat down and wrote two books (The Good Book and the Bad Book) out of the blue on his own the other day and drew the pictures for them as well. He needed help spelling some of the big words, but has shocked Nicki and me with all he has learned so far in Kindergarten.

Tristan is his own person. He is the one we tell not to do something, he stares us down and as soon as we look away, he does what he wants, but he has a huge heart. The other night, Nicki was finished eating, so Tristan (on his own) got up from his chair went to Nicki and took her plate and silverware to the sink.

Hailey surprised us this weekend and actually did a great job traveling. She started getting a little fussy at lunch yesterday & George commented that she was actually human, since he had not heard her cry or scream up to that point. Nicki and I were pleased as she has been real fussy her first 7 weeks with colic.

Fly casting at 4, building his own toy box at 5? heh.

He is trustworthy and wants to please his parents...My daughter is 14 and beautiful on the outside and more beautiful on the inside. She is easy going, mature and SMART and then there's my 10 year old daughter, she is witty, spunky, passionate and a true fighter! She has survived a congential heart defect and is here to change the world for JESUS! Best of all, they all love JESUS! We have the BEST KIDS!!! Thanks for giving us the opportunity to say how much our kids ROCK!!!!

My oldest son is joining the army in a few months, which makes me very proud that he wants to serve his country, my oldest daughter is graduating from high school a semester early to start college early, my 13 year old son actually enjoys taking out the trash, my 6 year old daughter is very compassionate and giving, helping me with anything around the house and my four year old son prays so honestly and sweetly you'd think Jesus was physically standing in the room with us. I love my kiddos!

Our sons are 17, 14, and 10. Each one is a Christ-follower and a lifestyle missionary. They get that they do not have to wait until tomorrow when they are older to be His hands, feet, eyes, ears, and mouth. They teach me far more than I could ever teach them. We also have some pretty fierce Wii bowling competitions. None of that straight bowling for us... we do it w/our backs facing the tv.. laying down on the floor.. and we laugh until our sides ache.

Cute cute boys you and Brandi have.
