This is one of the most exciting times of the year for me. It’s the first NFL weekend! Not only is it the first NFL games of the year but it also kicks off the highly anticipated Fantasy Football season.
Every year I play with a group of friends from Cross Point. I grabbed a little video for you at our draft so you could meet the guys and their favorite picks for this season!

Do you play Fantasy Football? Are you excited about football being back this week? Whose your favorite team?

i guess someone didn’t know that kevin curtis is hurt
yes i’m definitely looking forward to it. 3 leagues…we’ll see if i can keep up.
Nope, Nope,$ N/A. lol….obviously football is not my thing (or my husbands for that matter) in any way.
You enjoy it though.
Yeah, I was pretty much focusing on the decorations of your house in the background… could you pan more slowly from person to person next time? You were making some of the background blurry and I really wanted to see some of the wall hangings.
Tell Brandi she’s done a great job on your house!

I played for a long time. Problem is, I can’t do anything halfway. I would become a hermit for weeks before the draft. I enjoy the season more now. I do still like to analyze the choices and I’m still tempted to play again. Maybe I’ve mellowed with age, but I doubt it. I know because, I got excited and competitive all over again watching the video; caught myself talking to the screen and saying, “that’s a waste of a pick.”
At least you guys weren’t throwing things and fighting like we did in the league I was in.
Oh yeah…It’s Steeler time baby!! I got jacked in my fantasy league and ended up with Eli Manning…That could kill me, but I do have the A Train and Willie Parker to make up for it some
@sara… unfortunately not our house! but it does belong to my dear girlfriend and her husband (slits for eyes). she and i have similar tastes in home decor, so you kinda did get a little glimpse of our house via friends!
Go Titans!!
i’m heading to watch a little project runway!
No Fantasy Football here. Real life keeps us busy enough! But we are EAGLES fans through and through. Die Hard. Our favorite players at the Gang House are Brian Dawkins, David Akers, Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook – men of excellence and a couple of them are men of great faith too!
E A G L E S – Go Eagles!
Sad to say, but I can’t seem to pry my mind away from my work long enough to enjoy a good football game. Some piece of my mind is always jumping on my case about how I did the last day’s work.
Oh, and I don’t get Saturdays and Sundays off.
Steelers and Eagles Fans??? Where are my Titan fans at?? Jacksonville’s going down tomorrow!
@brandi… guess that’s proof of how little I listened during the video while I was looking at the home decor.
Tell slits for eyes his wife has great taste for me.
I guess I’m just lucky that the sermons online are “listen” only or I’d be disracted by the color of paint and carpet at the church.
@Pete: I can’t think about NFL yet when I’m still saying my “Hail Mary’s” for Nortre Dame at the moment. So much for touchdown Jesus when they can’t make a field goal.
@Sara, keep praying but their not looking real good right now. You might need to start cheering for whatever NFL team you follow.
@pete… miracles can happen, right? Makes me miss the days of Lou.
lol. My fave team is Heart of Midlothian FC (Hearts), however they wouldn’t get into your NFL seen as they’re based in the wrong country and play a different kind of football
We do have an American Football team here in Edinburgh (Edinburgh Wolves) which my friend used to play in. They’re pretty pants in the great global scheme of things though.
All I have to say is Brett Favre is a traitor.
Notre Dame: 21-13
Never underestimate the power of my Hail Mary’s.

1 Team with some great guys at Cool River. I’m good on QB and receivers but my RB core is weak.
Go Broncos!!!! (I’m sure you guys can help me cheer for Vandy’s Jay Cutler, right?)
i don’t do fantasy football, but my husband and i still watch football alot. being that our daughter is a cheerleader at her jr high, we even really follow our local high school team and go to the games. when my dad was alive he started to follow football because of my husband. only he followed the cowboys and we deal with the eagles first then the steelers as a close second
I played last year but I am more of a college football fan so I passed this year…….but I sit and watch college games every Saturday!
wow.. I feel bad for commenting that I’ve NEVER gotten into the whole fantasy football stuff. I enjoy watching the games and ill probably got to a couple Eagles games this year (my father inlaw has seasons tickets) I just enjoy watching the games if they are on
My husband and I both do the fantasy football thing!
And we LOVE the Colts….so unfortunately I’m not a fan of your Titans with them being in the same division! But I will root for them over Jacksonville!!
I absolutely love fantasy football. I’m in a league with a group of my fraternity brothers from college. There are guys in LA, in Chicago, in Boston, etc. It’s been 10 years since college ended – I guarantee you we wouldn’t all still be in touch with each other were it not for FF.
Honestly, I’m not big on the NFL. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE FOOTBALL!, but for some reason I’ve not really been able to get much into the pros the past couple of years. I am a big fan of the college football scene. I love following all the teams and for me, it’s cool to watch some of them grow up and then eventually move on to that pro level. I still watch the NFL games though, but not with the same..”intensity” that I watch college games with.
As far as fantasy football goes, never played. Some good friends have a league and asked me to join, but being a full time creative director doesn’t lend me too much time for that

@Monica Hunt, The Colts aren’t a bad team to root for.
@brianspessard, I feel you bro. It’s hard to get those teams filled out in between all of our services.
I am a solid split between the Seattle Seahawks and the Titans for football.
What I am most excited about though is this means only 5 weeks until Hockey!
Ha Ha!! I eat, breathe, sleep, bathe in, and everything under the sun you can think of — all of it — Fantasy Sports. My husband is a senior programmer for a Fantasy Sports website. It has been his job for the past 3 1/2 years. If it wasn’t for FS we would be broke. So yeah — I’m all about FS because that’s where they “show me the money”.
Heidi Reed
Titans just barely got by. VY, not looking so hot. My fantasy team is looking even worse.
Yay for Adrian Peterson! (Although I might be bias, being from Minnesota
)
2 Leagues for me…and HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!!!
I play. My Cowboys loyalty always makes draft day a little tricky. After this afternoon, feeling very good about not only my fantasy prospects but my real football loyalty as well.
Sad re: Brady’s injury, and very glad I didn’t draft him.
I played last year but didn’t get in a league this year. Too much going on.
I’ll be there rooting for my Patriots though!!! Just hoping Brady’s knee is OK.
I play and the week Jad and I play is always fun. I am a Titans and Vols fan. If Saturdays are ugly, hopefully Sundays will be better.
The guys got a league together and have so far been having fun with it. Lots of phone calls and lots of emails are being passed around. I dont get it and attempt to give an enthusiastic response when the boys tell me all about it.
I don’t do fantasy thought I think I’d really like it. I am involved in a picks league where we just pick the winner. For college and nfl. NFL hurts me everytime.
To say I play is an understatement. I am in 4 leagues and one that I co-manage with my son. (that’s 5 leagues total @brandiandboys in case you were wondering). I have been “addicted” to fantasy football since 1995 and I have to say it causes some painful times at the home front. But I am a football fanatic and sports junkie. I enjoy the drafts most of all, because all the “boys” get together and talk trash about each others selections (i.e. Brandon Marshall – 1st round). Maybe I put a little to much into Fantasy Football and my wife thinks I should probably give it up all together, but I win just enough $$$ every year to make it OK. Just another reason to compete—-you win dollar, dollar bills ya’ll.
The video was great Pete. It will be interesting to look back at the end of the year and see who was correct in their draft prognastication. (it means predictions Brandi, so put away the dictionary…)
BTW — I didn’t have anything to do with the decorations of the house, except for the Plasma screen on the wall. My wife gets all the credit and she does a heck of a job.
OK – I’m so out of it – What exactly is Fantasy Football? You guys pick people to be on a made-up team, and then what happens??
Sorry, I’m really girly….
I have been so excited that fantasy football and just football in general is here. I think I watch football more than my husband. My favorite fantasy pick for me this year is probably DeSean Jackson..I’m excited to see what he can do. My favorite player is Adrian Peterson…so bummed I didn’t get him. Enjoy the most wonderful season of the year. Football Season!!!! Make sure you put some video up of your son playing ball. I loved the pre season video. Did he learn to take his helmet off like a real man?
