Time is Flying By

Jett, our oldest son, started first grade today.

I’m so proud of you, son! You’ve got what it takes and I know this year is going to be awesome for you. Your mom and I are praying daily that God will use you in amazing ways at school this year.

feeling kind of old today,

Pete

I know what you mean about time flying by…I cannot believe how quickly my oldest, Gavin, has grown up. As I twittered earlier he started Kindergarten today, he’s supposed to just be learning how to crawl. I blinked and all of that was over with.

Feeling kind of old today, are ya? My oldest will be an adult in 2.5 years – not that I am counting.

You have a handsome young man there.

I just blogged about how quickly time passes. My oldest daughter will start 2nd grade in 2 weeks and my son will start Kindergarten…I’m a mess! I have to trust that me and their daddy have equipped them well enough to survive outside of these 4 walls without us. God will be with them and I pray that they lean on Him often! We still have a 2 year old at home, and I’m cherishing every moment!

When we drop off our baby girl at college next Friday, I really wonder if ‘old’ even captures it. I am so proud of what she has become…just not sure parents are ever ready! But here we go! You have a beautiful family…cherish every moment!

I pray God will bless Jett as he goes through school this year and each year to come. I also pray God will bless you as his Dad and help you to treasure each day that He gives you as a family.

    Aww!! Congrats to Jett!

I feel old, too – my oldest starts High School in a couple weeks.

PS: Why do you guys start school so EARLY??

@Kristie, I have no idea. It does seem a little early this year.

Awesome pictures! My boys don’t go back for a few more weeks, but my Alex will also be starting 1st Grade! I hope Jett has a wonderful day and a great teacher!

Time does fly! I can’t believe my baby just started school. Yesterday I seen Madolyn in a whole new light! She looked like this little adult with her back pack all ready for school! Good luck to Jett!

The backpack always seems so big on a 1st grader.

Yes, time does indeed fly. I have a 36,35,23 and 13 year old. Yesterday I asked my 13 year old son how the first day of school
was. He replied, “boring.” At least some things don’t change.

wait til he starts college, then you have permission to feel a bit aged. Just enjoy these memories. They are precious.

He looks so handsome and ready! I’ll drop off my oldest daughter in 2 weeks for first grade and our second child off off to Pre-K.
Man, I’ll only have one girl left with me during the day, it will be weird.
Enjoying these days. Its flying by.
I hope Jett has a great first grade year!

I am dreading those days. The other day I just realized that this is the last year that our oldest won’t be going off to school with all the rest of the kids. Definitely a wierd and sad thought. Seems like she was just born, how can she be that close to going to school? Time does fly.

Good luck to Jett on his year in first grade! He’ll be awesome!

We’re taking our youngest daughter to school on August 22nd…but, this time – IT’S COLLEGE!! Cherish these times, Pete. They go by soooo fast!
Plus, keeping the same haircut as your son is cute, too! :)

Abbie starts first grade next week and she has been reminding us that some of the things we are asking her to do are for little girls. We should know that she is a young lady, she is a first grader after all!

    Lookin’ good Jett!

how sweet. My daughter starts kindergarten next week! Although she has been in a school setting since she was 2, I am having a hard time with this one. I am a very sentimental person and It’s hard for me to see her growing up so fast. I think that may be,in part, because I am a single parent and it’s just her and I. She’s awesome, smart, funny, loves to learn, loves Jesus, and for now, she thinks I’m the best person in the world. Since it’s just her and I, I am her best playmate. Although it’s rare, I do sometimes sigh with exhaustion when she says “mom will you play with me”, but lately I’ve started to remind myself “Play with her, because one day soon, you may not be her first choice of a playmate”. I also think of Steven Curtis Chapman-what he wouldn’t give to hear his sweet Maria say “daddy will you play with me”. Still, I wish they could stay little FOREVER :)
