Last night we got together with a handful of friends here at the house. The party this year was not quite as big as years past, but we’ll be back in full swing in 2009. Next year, EVERYONE IS INVITED (this is not an official invitation as I’ve not checked with Brandi)!
A few of us go in on fireworks, and I must admit, I’m quite proud of the firework show we’ve developed over the years. I stand by my commitment to provide the largest, backyard, fireworks display anywhere in Nashville (or at least on my street).
Hope you guys had a great weekend. I would love to hear how your weekend was!

Thanks for the Video Pete looks like a great time.
The best part of the 4th for me. Getting in the Van with my 8 year old girl(just me and her), driving up the street from my in-laws to the church parking lot, so she could see the fireworks being shot off in the surrounding neighborhood.
You’ll be really popular in the hood, when 300 or 400 Cross Pointers show up next year.
We’ve had a great weekend. T.J.’s fireworks weren’t stopped by the police this year. We attended the birthday party of an old friend today(I wore a pointed hat), plus Heather lost her car keys, the only set. The search will resume tomorrow. Life is good.
We didn’t do anything very exciting, but it was a good weekend. We saw all of our kids, grilled, made homemade ice cream and then layed laminate flooring while we listened to the fireworks. We spent time with our kids (2 of whom live away at college) and with one another so it’s been good.
Holy cow Pete… those were some great fireworks maybe next year I will pack Karen and the kids and we will head to your place for 4th of July. Its been raining since Thursday night.. so needless to say everything here on the east coast was kindof a wash out. But Thanks for great video.. I was able to at least see some fire works.
I’m not packing next year, just walking up the street. This 4th has been good. Harley, food, Robbie, food, baseball–tired!
Happy 4th Weekend!
We had an awesome 4th too. The kids were really into it all this year. Fun times!
Next year, we’re coming to Nashville.
So how big is your house. Can you fit a family of 5? Yeah, we’re staying with you.
LOL!!
Ya, how big is the house? – talk to Brandi – We’re in – Count us for 5 people – should I bring my own meat for the grill?
PS: Plan on us for the whole weekend, as we will need a place to stay after driving 13 hours. Also, I’ve been wanting to hear you preach anyway, so we’ll stay through Sunday morning. See ya then!
Hey Pete, maybe I could help all these people buy houses in Nashville, in your neighborhood!
Great fireworks show!
God Bless UGANDA!
Sorry guys but I am going to take the cake on this one:
July 3rd-Dog gets hit by car, Jody spends most of the night at Pet emergency clinic
July 4th-Jody gets no Bar-B-Que because it makes Karen sick (boohoo!)
July 5th-Jody has to rush to Vanderbilt to pick up daughter, because babysitter has had allergic reaction to frozen yogurt
July 6th-Jody has to miss church/meeting because wife is sick
Poor me! I could be in a third world country right now or better yet, I could have cancer. ONE DAY AT A TIME!
Looks like you guys had a great time! We took it pretty easy here in Tulsa. Grilled out with some friends, played catch ( I got hit in the face with the baseball!) We had a bunch of babies runnin’ and crawlin’ around! It was great!
Very nice. Nothing like that happens around here ( maybe because its illegal in our area to have fireworks). We spent the weekend celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary.
@Jody, Sorry to hear the weekend has been so rough. Praying for you guys.
Pete, I am humbled. That was a great fireworks show!
This was only our second year doing backyard fireworks, and we’re just starting to discover which ones we like.
So… what are your recommendations for a newbie? Those looked like some awesome mortars.
