My Son Is Blogging

Well it’s official! My seven year old Jett has his own blog. You can check it out HERE.

We thought this would be a fun summer exercise in writing. It will also be a great way to introduce him to journaling. I’ve been journaling since high school. It’s so cool to look back and see the different things, events, and people that have impacted my life over the years. I hope this is something that Jett will do over the course of his life time.

I was thinking this afternoon about just a few of the events I can’t wait (I think) to read about on his blog one day…

  • His first true love
  • The first day of 1st grade
  • When he accepts Christ into his life
  • His first homerun
  • A time when he trusts God is some areas of his life that scares him to death
  • The day he gets his driver’s license

we’ve been encouraging our kids to blog. but only our daughter has teken it up. she’s http://thaigirlwonder.wordpress.com she’s not great about updating it. we should encourage more. i think it’s a fantastic idea. i wish i’d done more (any) journaling as a kid – all the stuff that happened growing up has a definite fuzz to it.

And just think about all the things he won’t put on his blog for you to read about! The joys of sons. Great blog Jett!

Pete, I think you are in denial… ;)
You will also read about the first time he is mad, and I mean REALLY MAD, at you – in detail, on the www. You will hear about stuff you probably rather hadn’t.

But I admire you and applaud you. I just bought my son a Thomas the Tank Engine play computer (he is 2.5), and everybody thinks i lost my marbles. Your post shows that I am on the right track for him to become as passionate about writing as I am.

    Have a great life together!
