Bow Chica Wow Wow! | WithoutWax.tv by Pete Wilson

Bow Chica Wow Wow!

One of my favorite things about being a dad to three boys is trying to figure out their differences. They are all motivated by different things. They receive and give love in different ways.

Gage is our middle son, but there is nothing average about him. He is our sweetheart. He’s the one who will be taking care of me one day when I’m old and in a nursing home. He never meets a stranger and those of you who know Gage know just how loving he is.

Lately, Gage has been walking around, randomly doing this dance he saw on the Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. We call it the “Bow Chica Wow Wow” dance. One morning this week he decided he wanted to teach me how to do the dance.

So here you go….

Gage does the “Bow Chica Wow Wow” dance. from Pete Wilson on Vimeo.

Have a great weekend guys,

Pete

Usually you have to pay money for a show like that! :)

  2. April June 27, 2008 at 5:30 am #

I totally agree with Brandi…But I am glad you have a day job…you should keep that up.

  3. Jenni June 27, 2008 at 5:34 am #

Hey! I can’t see the video. Can you help me out? I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong….

  4. Jan June 27, 2008 at 5:34 am #

yes, Pete, you’d better be careful. This is how rumors get started! (did you hear what Pete was doing at night to raise a little extra cash?) And how church wide videos for “Pastor Appreciation” get made! I don’t know your family but that was so cute. You were okay as well! :)

  5. Jennifer June 27, 2008 at 5:45 am #

Gage is awesome! My safari locked up when you started doing the bow chica wow wow. I guess it was for the best :)

  6. Pete Wilson June 27, 2008 at 5:48 am #

@Jennifer, yes I can guarantee you it was for the best!

  7. DEb June 27, 2008 at 5:58 am #

OH MY! I cannot believe I just witnessed our PASTOR doing the “Bow Chica Wow Wow” dance… but my you were very good at it-not as good as Smoke (yeah, GI – I got it right from here on out!) but nonetheless good. Can we see Brandi doing that too??? How about a Wilson Dance Off???

  8. transplantingme June 27, 2008 at 5:59 am #

i love that his shirt says worth my weight in gold.

and when where in the states if i hear that your gonna do that dance during a sermon we might have to put nashville on our must see list!

  9. Brad Ruggles June 27, 2008 at 6:01 am #

Wow, now that is some quality blog entertainment right there! I think you need to do that dance for the bloggers retreat.

  10. travis johnson June 27, 2008 at 6:02 am #

  11. klampert June 27, 2008 at 6:04 am #

  12. Tami June 27, 2008 at 6:26 am #

Movie tickets to Alvin and the Chipmunks- $24.00
Popcorn and drinks at the movies- $14.00
Seeing your pastor do the Bow Chica Wow Wow Dance- PRICELESS

Great video! I need to start playing matchmaker with Avery and Gage- Four isn’t too young for that, right??

  13. Giant Idiot June 27, 2008 at 6:29 am #

When is the next karaoke night?

  14. Annabelle @ Christian Momma June 27, 2008 at 6:34 am #

That is just too cute! My boys (they are 11, 7, and twin 5 year olds) have never seen the movie, however, they know that dance!

I found your blog by reading Bring The Rain blog.

  15. Juliepersinger June 27, 2008 at 6:35 am #

OK, where’s Matt Singleton? This really needs to make it into the next sermon lead-in video. You do realize how distracted we’re all going to be while you’re speaking on Sunday, right, now that we’ve seen this??

  16. Jenn June 27, 2008 at 6:46 am #

This is great! It must be the age! Joel has been singing the same thing and doing a similar dance…took me some time to figure out the movie it came from! Glad to see you are able to have fun with it!

  17. mpt June 27, 2008 at 7:10 am #

Wow. That was awesome. That kid should be in commercials!

  18. Marla Saunders June 27, 2008 at 7:17 am #

Definitely that footage is priceless: just think of the future uses in oh, say…WEDDING VIDEOS!

Gage is now my official favorite video blogger.

  19. Pete Wilson June 27, 2008 at 7:21 am #

@Juliepersinger, Matt already has enough ammo with certain outtakes from previous videos we have done for CP. He doesn’t need any more!!

  20. Amanda June 27, 2008 at 7:35 am #

Awwwwwwww!!!!!!!! How cute is that?! And I love that shirt he’s wearing :)

  21. Tracie June 27, 2008 at 7:36 am #

Gage is going to love (since the sarcasm) that video in about 12 years. I love listening to him talk. I think he stole a little piece of my heart. Too cute.

  22. JudiFree.com June 27, 2008 at 7:37 am #

Videos like this make me so anxious to have kids – keep em coming!

  23. Angie June 27, 2008 at 7:59 am #

That was absolutely so cute. He’s going to be a heartbreaker when he grows up! Have fun being a daddy!!

  24. Adam O June 27, 2008 at 8:02 am #

    Pete,
that was awseomse dude. You guys should take that show on the road. Maybe create a new work out video. I am sure that would definitely work your abs in some way.

  25. jon mckanna June 27, 2008 at 8:04 am #

the shirt he is wearing says it ALL!!!

  26. Kara Prater June 27, 2008 at 8:10 am #

Soo funny! Our girls love Alvin and the Chimpmunks! Their favorite part is when Alvin sticks his booty out of the hat and toots at Dave! They just crack up. :)
Gage is so cute. There is something about the middle child. Avery-our middle- is sooo sweet and the lover in the family. She just has that sweet heart and good dance moves! Got that from daddy not me. They all love doing the cha cha slide together!

  27. Clayton Bell June 27, 2008 at 8:19 am #

    Wow…there are no words…

Your staff should play that while your speaking, and then quickly change it when you turn around. Good times all around…

  28. Jenny in Nebraska June 27, 2008 at 8:36 am #

Pete, that was awesome! Gage is a real cutie. Thanks for the laughter!

  29. Harold McKee June 27, 2008 at 8:54 am #

I just can’t keep from thinking about another Tennessean who was critisized and not allowed on the Ed Sullivan Show except from the waste up for much less than that. Now a pastor does it on the WWW.

Life just isn’t fair Elvis, but you knew that.

  30. Jared Woodard June 27, 2008 at 9:04 am #

Im just impresed with Gage’s Videography skills.Whatch out Matt Singleton!

  31. Stacy June 27, 2008 at 9:21 am #

Oh my, i have not stopped smiling after watching that. I am impressed that you were actually on camera for the world to see. Brave man!!!

Now as to the whole Bow Chicka Wow Wow thing my 6 yr old son has not even seen the movie, he has only seen the commercials that they showed on TV. Well started walking around just randomly saying, “Bow Chicka Wow Wow!” at every thing so I had to finally ban the word from our house because it got so annoying.

  32. Jenni Catron June 27, 2008 at 9:32 am #

Too funny! Gage is a heartbreaker… there is no doubt. I love this kid!

  33. Jad June 27, 2008 at 9:45 am #

Gage is kind of a harsh critic. 2 out of 10?

I’ll at least give you 4.5 out of 10.

  34. Heidi Reed June 27, 2008 at 10:07 am #

Gage is adorable. Pete you shouldn’t do that dance online. It’s sort of (Brandi, don’t get mad – girl I’m married to a great man – alright), but it was sort of sexy. I need to repent. I know. Going to get on my knees and ask forgiveness. So embarrassing. But it’s the truth. [blush]

  35. Birgit June 27, 2008 at 10:10 am #

This is so funny. Gage explained and demo’ed the whole thing really well. I agree with Jad though, 2 out of 10 for you? So funny :)

  36. Tony Chavez June 27, 2008 at 10:32 am #

    Awesome!!

  37. ncarnes June 27, 2008 at 10:49 am #

Pete, if you ever need extra $, I can hook you up, I had to get a “night” job not too long ago, and all I can say is it looks like you would qualify for the position

On a serious note, that’s what I love about kids. On Comcast we have the digital music channels and my boys will literally dance to “Taco” (Mexican) music for over an hour straight. Cool stuff!

  38. Pete Wilson June 27, 2008 at 11:00 am #

@transplantingme, I love his shirt too! I wish I could get it in my size! He’s totally a rock star. Jett has the voice but Gage has the moves.

  39. Joseph June 27, 2008 at 11:30 am #

I think you all are only one step away from a hoola hoop.

  40. davidtjordan June 27, 2008 at 11:38 am #

    PETE!!!

Great video, man. Haven’t seen Gage in a while. He’s getting big! Hope you’re well. Glad to have found your blog! I’ll be back often. Feel free to check mine out as well. Have a great weekend, friend!

    ~David

  41. Jim Drake June 27, 2008 at 11:50 am #

    Pete–that made me laugh….

I can only think way into the future when you are in that nursing home and Gage has you do something silly on camera to get back at you for this.

    Thanks for the Friday funny!

  42. Harold McKee June 27, 2008 at 1:16 pm #

@Jim, don’t you think he could just reply this?

  43. Anne Glamore June 27, 2008 at 1:42 pm #

I also have a post with this title. Unfortunately, my 12 year old learned the music from the Axe commercial, which is how I learned that you CAN purchase R rated toiletries, and you don’t even have to try very hard.

Even though I hate the Chipmunks, I much prefer their version of this music!

  44. kc June 27, 2008 at 1:53 pm #

I think you’re ready for this…you’re certainly becoming a PROBLOGGER
    http://www.problogger.net/
Also…Did you know that you can make a 6 figure income blogging? Check that out here: http://tallskinnykiwi.typepad.com/tallskinnykiwi/2008/06/blogging-for-th.html
Ok…that’s all I got except this one piece of advice: removing an item of clothing while you do that dance next time may get you a few more hits on your blog. Although…it will definitely get you fired from your job. Decisions, decisions….

  45. pollyh June 27, 2008 at 2:00 pm #

    Priceless!

  46. brent(inWorship) June 27, 2008 at 2:10 pm #

    I think I need to take a shower :)

  47. tam June 27, 2008 at 2:11 pm #

the only thing that was disturbing about that was your big toe.

    WOW!!!

  48. melissa irwin June 27, 2008 at 2:12 pm #

That was remarkable! Love it love it love it!

  49. Aaron June 27, 2008 at 2:30 pm #

You are just stockpiling ammunition against your kids, aren’t you Pete? Blackmail fuel for life.

  50. Happy White Man June 27, 2008 at 3:01 pm #

Am I the only one noticing that your home rug is the same as the rug on your church’s stage?

  51. Pete Wilson June 27, 2008 at 3:12 pm #

@Happy White Man, dude you are observant! That’s amazing that you caught that.

  52. Susan Kerr Jenkins June 27, 2008 at 3:35 pm #

Oh Pete!! I love it!! That is classic!! You haven’t changed a bit!!

  53. krista June 27, 2008 at 3:36 pm #

i’ll give ya $10 to do the dance Sunday during the 11 AM. i have to witness it.

  54. Kristie June 27, 2008 at 3:49 pm #

@krista – ONLY $10?? Ok, I don’t live in Tenn., but PASTORS don’t do that here in MICHIGAN! – I would pay at least $50.

PETE – once again – PRICELESS. Your kids need to start their own BLOG.

  55. Heidi Reed June 27, 2008 at 4:30 pm #

See Pete. Now you’re being asked to remove clothing and take money. My point, my point. Mmm hmmm.

LOL! Ok, I’m over it now. Just wanted to joke with you some more. It really was funny!!

  56. Sheryl June 27, 2008 at 5:18 pm #

i know this was not a video that was supposed to make me cry, but it did. i hope your boys know how blessed they are to have a dad like you. my children do not and i am WAY jealous! you’re an amazing dad and your kids are great (i know your wife can take some credit for that too)

  57. CJ Mills June 27, 2008 at 8:15 pm #

Dude – that was awesome; thanks for sharing!

  58. Jonnelle June 27, 2008 at 8:22 pm #

That totally made my Friday. I should have watched the video earlier. It might have prevented hours of internal whining over nothing.

    Thanks :)

  59. Jonnelle June 27, 2008 at 8:26 pm #

Speaking of Jett the Rock Star, back in the day when he and Dalton were in my class, they were both leaning against the table where the CD player was sitting. One foot crossed over the other. Resting on one elbow. Hand tucked in their pocket. Groovin’ to whatever children’s worship CD was playing. They were the coolest 2 year olds ya ever saw.

It was one of those moments where you wish you had a camera… and if you had it with you that you could get the picture taken before they notice.

  60. kristiapplesauce June 28, 2008 at 1:32 pm #

    priceless.

  61. collegeknowledge June 28, 2008 at 5:13 pm #

Oh my! I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time! Dylan just watched that with me and wants to know what that dance is. Okay so how do I explain that now???!?!?!?

  62. Landon Morgan June 29, 2008 at 9:31 am #

    Too funny.

  63. Jessica June 29, 2008 at 9:35 am #

The best part about that is that you let him do it in his boxers… He is going to die when he is 15 and sees this. Soooo Funny!

  64. Rachel Rowell June 29, 2008 at 3:50 pm #

This is great! Moments like that are priceless. Oh and uh…thanks for the laugh! That was quite a performance there Pete. :)

  65. Rebecca Moon June 29, 2008 at 7:50 pm #

could he possibly be any cuter? what a little sweetheart :)

  66. A.Cait July 2, 2008 at 8:31 pm #

This little guy is such a heartbreaker! One of my favourite parts about being a nanny was catching priceless moments like this & getting to step inside their world. Love it.

  67. amashni November 26, 2008 at 8:38 am #

    Pete,
My High School youth group is doing a sex series in February and we’re calling it “Bow-chica-wow-wow.” May we use the video of your son? It would be a great opener or “teaching moment” haha.

    Let me know!
