Double the Fun

Jett and Gage went on their first double date this past weekend. Jessica and Rachel, two of our amazing singles from Cross Point, took them out for pizza and a movie. They had a blast!

I was 16. Me and my best friend were dating two other best friends. We cooked for them. They threw up. We broke up with them.

Thank you Jess and Rachel, the boys had a blast and I am sure this will be a memory they have forever. Thanks for loving on them.

And I don’t remember ANY date before my husband! :)

My friend Ruben and I took our dates to Chuck E Cheese in Boston. THankfully it was before the rule they made that you had to have kids to get in.

I was 16. Myy friend Mitchell and I took our dates to Bellevue Mall and then to the Dickson Drive-in. His date was much prettier and I was jealous all night.

My very first date was a double date – I think I was 15. It was all my parents would allow me to do so I got stuck basically chaperoning my best friend and her boyfriend. My “date” was a VERY annoying, know-it-all who happened to be around 4 inches shorter than me! UGGHHHH! Pete, I was jealous all night, too, because my best friend and her boyfriend were having a blast and I was miserable!! Good times?!

I don’t know how I feel about my sister dating my boss’ sons!
I don’t really remember my first double date but my best friend and I dated twins for awhile in high school… and their mom was our Spanish teacher – too complicated!

When we were 15 years old, my (now) husband and I went on our 1st date with his older sister and her boyfriend to Shoney’s and then to a church softball game the guys were playing in. Who knew that night would be the start of such an amazing adventure?! I mean, Shoney’s?

I am having a tough time remembering my first double date. I want to say it was the time Tony Romo and I went out with Terrell Owens and his ego.

My wife and I had our first date together but with different people on a double date. I guess we both realized that our dates were really dull so we decided to date each other instead.

I do remember. It was me and Sherry, now my wife, along with Jan and Doyle. They did not marry. It was after a ballgame when we were in high school and we rode around for a while and the rest is none of your business. :-)

I’ll really show my age. We went to see the original MASH movie. I started dating a little later in life that most, so…..no more details. Sorry, Pete. Have to maintain a spiritual tone.

That is awesome! Congrats to the guys…

My first double date was when I was 14. Me and a buddy from youth group met 2 girls at the Mexican restaurant and then we walked over to the ice cream place. I can’t even remember the girl’s name. How terrible is that?

I do remember my first double date–my friend and I weren’t quite driving age yet and neither were our dates so the only person available to drive us was her Grandmother Wretta. At first we didn’t care, I mean it was a date to the church youth group sock hop and we didn’t think it would matter how we got there. Well after a scary ride with Ms Wretta’s bad eyesight and a buzzer going off in her car that was purposefully added due to the fact she couldn’t really see the speedometer (that was the only way she knew she was speeding) we arrived at the dance and we had a great time. There was no romance to follow.

My first double date ended in the back of a police cruiser. Not good times for the Giant Idiot.

Pete, I want to thank you for causing my wife to spend all her time responding to these thought provoking topics. However, she really needs to be working. So please stick to fly fishing or trips to Lowes because I know she has nothing to add on those topics. Thanks buddy.

Aw, I had a blast, That may be my problem, Id rather go on a date with a 6 and 4 yr. old then a older 20 something.. Oh well… ill keep doing it un-till I am too un-cool for them :)

This was definitely the best double-date. You couldn’t ask for better… polite manners and humor… what a deal :)

This will show my age but I remember it was the premier of the STYX band tour in 1983 (for Portland oregon). It was me and Kevin and Jennifer and Kyle. I remember standing in the rain for this concert for 2 hours. That feathered hair didn’t last. Neither did Kevin, but still got the t-shirt!!!

yeah, i took a girl named amanda (who is now my wife) to a haunted house 9 years ago and we had another couple with us….2 things went wrong…1-my wife is way to scared to walk through that thing–i lost circulation in my hands and arms and she held on to me walking through…2. i had no idea where i was and got us lost–i looked like a total idiot.

    Hi Pete,
Thanks for stopping by my page yesterday! I like your blog and think I’m going to put it on my blog roll as well!

Re: double dates…my first double date was my jr year prom where the boys gave us corsages, made us dinner and shlepped it (and us) down into the canyon (I grew up in ID) to eat via candlelight and coyotes. It was sweet and romantic. A+ for effort for those boys! They truly pulled out the small-town red carpet. I remember a lot of Air Supply that night too. Unfortunately, I also remember that the best part of the night was goofing on it with my double-dating friend the next day. (My friend and I weren’t really into the guys we were double-dating.) I have since matured. (Well, I think…or hope!!)

I just have two words: Putt Putt!

    Back to the basics!

  24. Miranda April 26, 2008 at 2:25 pm #

They both have on their pimp faces! lol! That is too funny!

I was 15 and we were on our way to the Homecoming dance. My date left me at the dance so I was glad to have another couple along for the ride!

Oh the things we go through as teenagers!
