A Little More Like God Intended
I met up at Starbucks yesterday with Spence Smith. Before taking on the role of Artist Relations with Compassion International in 2001, Spence was a 5 time Grammy nominee with the band Big Tent Revival.
Let me tell you why I like hanging out with guys like Spence. It’s because we share a common bond. We really believe in our hearts that we can change the world. We really believe we can use the giftedness, relationships, and influence that has been entrusted to us to make this world a little more like God intended.
Go read, love, and link to Spence’s blog. Then come back here and answer this question.
What is the one thing you can do today to make this world a little more like God intended?
Pete

Hope you’re Thursday wasn’t too nuts. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to comment.
Just wanted to ask you to check out the small group that is going to be starting for the blogging community next week. If you feel lead to, then please, join in and share what God is telling you about the Word.
Awesome deal, Later man!
Today….I will show grace every time I get a chance!
I am just going to get the heck outta the way…
Hey Pete!! Thanks again for your time yesterday! It was a great way to start the day with such refreshing and inspiring conversation!!! More hang time to come!!!! and thank you so much for the post love..
I can make this world more like God intended by changing people’s view of what a Christ-follower looks like…one person at a time.

Putting a filter between my brain and mouth
I think the story below sets a great example for me to do something out of the box—something that really stretches me to impact this world.

Thanks for turning me on to Spence’s blog. I’m sure it will be one of my new favorites. Passion drives creative leadership. It’s the thing that inspires other leaders to go for the next level. It elevates faith. It motivates. Thanks Pete for the boost. You challenge me as a Pastor. It’s my goal to do the same.
I believe we can change the world too…i genuinely, passionately believe it. today, i will be a great friend to someone hurting and in need.
Gosh, this is a real thought provoking question. I will be compassionate. I won’t just feel it, but I’ll show it. The truth is, I just don’t take time to show it. That changes now.
I’ll try … and I stress the word TRY … to extend grace to other drivers during my commute to work!
Okay, Pete. You gave a challenge and I took you up on it. I said that I would choose to be compassionate. I totally didn’t expect it to be so hard! Here’s what happened:

I think I would rather have given all my cash to a homeless person. Gee, I hope that active compassion becomes easier over time. I really really hope it will eventually come naturally to me. But I do thank you for the challenge. It’s what made me stop and think today.
