Mind Dump
I’ve got so many things bouncing around in my head from the last few days that I just couldn’t get them to fit in a nice, neat post. So, here are a bunch of random thoughts I wanted to share with you.
- This Easter weekend was truly amazing. I was so proud of everyone I got the opportunity to serve with. It was a really, really, long weekend, but God did some amazing things.
- My kids, in their matching green shirts, participated in three different Easter eggs hunts. They had a blast. And, as usual, my mom cooked an amazing Easter lunch.
- My Western Kentucky Hilltoppers are headed to the sweet sixteen. Can’t wait to watch them face UCLA on Thursday.
- I think I’m winning the office tournament with 37 out of 48 correct picks. It’s a real shame that I’m beating Indiana basketball experts like this guy.
- Please keep Jacky Allen in your prayers. Jackie is struggling for his life right now in a hospital here in Nashville. Jacky was greeting at Cross Point Nashville just one week ago and this week was struck by a rare virus that is attacking his organs. Once again I have been reminded of the fragile nature of life.
- I was so encouraged by the number of pastor friends that contacted me over the weekend just to say that they were praying for Cross Point. I am so blessed to be surrounded by some real Kingdom minded pastors in this area.
- I have heard rumors of a new website for Cross Point that could be launched as early as later this week. I got a sneak peek and it looks AMAZING.
- Ryan Bult and his Cross Point mission team returned late last night from a week in the Dominican Republic. They actually celebrated Easter with our Domincan Church in their new building which we have been working on. I’ll give you more details and pics later this week.
- Cross Point’s own Sheg Aronmolate is still on Oprah’s Big Give. He survived another week of elimination. I think something big happens to him this next week. Sheg, can you give us any hints?

“Mind Dumb” = perfect description. I’m feeling you! Man, isn’t it cool that we get this way from doing God stuff and not world junk?!
I can relate to the snapshot about the cold baseball practices. I used to watch my two oldest sons, who are now your age. One, had the physical gifts, he’d catch anthing hit his way but the other, would be too busy chasing a butterfly.
Pete, enjoy those boys. Life passes so quickly. Chasing butterflies is important, too.
“I think I’m winning the office tournament with 37 out of 48 correct picks. It’s a real shame that I’m beating Indiana basketball experts like this guy…”
Let’s be honest there are only 3 people in the pool and only you and Presley (my 4 year old daughter) picked the Hilltoppers! Let’s hear it for SEC Basketball!!!
UPDATE: I wanted to thank all of you who were praying for Jacky Allen. Jacky passed away last night and his funeral will be this Thursday at 11:00 here at Cross Point. God received glory through the life of Jacky and now he will receive it through his death.
Go Hilltoppers! Of course, as entrenched as I am in the Bluegrass it’s dangerous to say that (but of course, for most folks around here rooting for WKU is infinitely better than rooting for Luhvull). I’m really looking forward to tomorrow… if they could quit blowing double digit leads they have a great chance!
Go Hilltoppers! Although they have totally screwed up my brackets in the office tournament, I am proud of them anyway. I knew that you were bouncing off the walls during the game.
Thanks for the prayers for Jacky. He was my husband’s uncle and he will be missed greatly.
We are getting a new website. Yippee
.. any chance of the sermons appearing on iTunes as podcasts? On the rare occasions that I can’t attend, it would be cool to download them to my iPod and listen to them wherever – not just sitting at a computer.
I’ve discovered some great churches through their podcasts that I listen to every week (Mars Hill – Seattle, Mars Hill Bible Church – Michigan, The Village, Journey Ecclesia in Franklin).
(yes I sent this suggestion to the Creative team in December. Just mentioning it here too.
