Happy Valentines Day!
Those of you who know me, know I’m not really that romantic of a guy. I wish I was. As a matter of fact, I still have no idea what I’m going to do for Brandi tonight. However, I thought this was a great opportunity to tell you a little about my wife.
Here are a few reasons why I love her so much.
-
She loves God more than she loves me
-
She is absolutely willing, if need be, to put her dreams aside to make sure that I achieve mine
-
She is the most attentive, caring, energetic, and loving mom I have ever met
-
She is hot
-
She loves to try new things
-
She is an incredible cook
-
She invites me to lead
-
She still looks at me the way she did the first night that we met
-
She is a great friend to the people God has blessed her life with
-
She makes me laugh….a lot
-
She doesn’t take her self too seriously
-
She challenges me to be the man God created me to be, by being the woman God created her to be
Now, I need some help with tonight. Any suggestions?

Pete, great post.
My suggestion? We take these Hallmark days way too seriously. I want to love my wife every day, not just today. So, we’re going back to simple. We decided on a quiet evening together, not fancy dinner, no outrageous expectations. Just two people who love each other and enjoy being with each other. Hallmark wouldn’t be proud.
You’re a sly one, Pete. You say you’re not a romantic and then go on to say everything a woman wants to hear.
You guys have a happy Valentines Day.
Oh, it probably wouldn’t hurt to grab the $4.99 candy from CVS.
Thanks for stopping by my site… I just subscribed to yours!!!
If you want some company, come spend it with us! Our small group is having dinner at the Smouse’s at 6:30.
Pete…
Here’s what I am doing, not sure if it works for you or not…Wisking her away on her lunch for a meal without children. For me, in the middle of the day conversation always goes better than at the end of the day tired, frustrating talk. I can’t tell you the rest, since she reads your blog too!! Can’t let the cat out of the bag!!
Pete, I think you should take off work, early, get the boys, tell Brandi to get out of the house for a while and all 4 of you fix a nice, simple dinner . . . and clean up!!! Maybe make some ice cream sundaes for dessert.
I think Brandi will be honored when she reads your blog. Not saying you shouldn’t do anything else for her on this special day, but in my opinion the one thing a woman wants more than anything is to be valued by her husband and you obviously value Brandi and this was a great way to let her know that! … good job!
I can certainly attest to the fact that Brandi is a huge blessing in the lives of her friends…heck, she helps me stay motivated to get up at 4:30 in the morning to work out! As for how to make her feel special today, I know that I always feel most valued when I’ve got Matt’s undivided attention. Nothing fancy necessary, just some actual quality time together. So..put that i-phone away for the night and make way for a little QT!
You guys are awesome! Keep the ideas coming. But Ashley, you know the i-phone must tag along
Everyone needs love on V-Day!
Bro, the foot rub works every time.
it’s too late to have any suggestions for you, but i must tell you that your words tell of a beautiful love. once in a lifetime do you find such admiration and devotion. may all of your days be filled with the joy that is in your heart
ok so I know this is late, but I am sure Brandi would still accept a late present. I think you should go to the apple store and buy her, her very own iPhone. I know she would love one, and that way you wouldn’t have to put yours down to pay attention to her because she would have her own to mess with. See I’m a genius I know !
Just as a follow-up, I had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. Pete did several special things (including this flattering blog entry) that made me feel valued, appreciated and loved! I am one lucky lady.
Wow! What a great example of true love. It’s so refreshing to hear from people who are truly happy. I can’t say that Brandi is the luckiest girl, ‘cuz I’m pretty sure I am, but she’s definitely a close second! Happy belated Valentine’s Day to both of you!
